Heart Game: Duality - Round 2

Your sleep is restless, and it's hard to settle as your eyelids refusing to stop twitching, and you can feel an itch at the back of your mind, flashes of uncomfortable thoughts dipping in and out of your dreams, constantly interrupting your tries to relax. ... Are you even asleep?

Apparently you were, because you wake up with a start, cheek pressed uncomfortably to steel flooring and flickering lights overhead. Unfortunately, you don't feel very rested at all.

[...he pauses, and stares a little at her sudden giant robot, and then he charges forward.]

... I'm a hero, I'm supposed to fight! And this is a competition!

[her robot proceeds to grow a large energy blade from one arm which immediately begins taking some slashes that leave arcs of damaging hard light lingering afterwards as obstacles, otherwise she just keeps ~~using Harden~~ reinforcing her defenses around the cockpit area of the mecha that she's located in]

I think a hero has to do more than fight! There are other ways... but if this has to be a contest to the end...

[she trails off but doesn't stop fighting]

[he doesn't hesitate to throw up a giant avalance of ice, trying to trap her and all of her light obstacles]

Oh no...

[which is to say she's trapped by ice spikes in her mech and all she can do is dissolve her slash obstacles and sword to refocus all her willpower and energy on keeping her defenses from being obliterated and her from being skewered or buried]

[she's not getting skewered. he's very careful not to bring actual harm to her. if she loses the control of her mech, though, she'll end up being trapped inside the ice. her head and hands will be free, though!]

[eventually she can't maintain her resistance to the pressure and is indeed trapped in ice]

...

[she doesn't say anything but when/if he approaches she will absolutely try to sucker punch whatever part of him is level with a very deliberate and focused pair of hard light beams from her eyes]

[he blinks and isn't able to dodge that, just flies back to the ground with a grunt.

he was going to free her from the ice, rude!]

[SHE'LL FREE HERSELF FROM THE DAMN ICE

and to that end she's exhaling some hard light dragon breath at the ice but she can't get the right angle and she's cold and... yeah it's over if he gets up]

My processors are literally freezing...

[he lays on his back for a moment before he staggers back on his feet]

I... was going to melt it.

I know, but I had to try one last time. It wasn't my loss until I was completely spent. And I am now.

[just breathes out on a huff. his breath is icy and he's shivering a little.

gonna walk over to her and put his left hand on the ice, effectively melting it and freeing her]

[falls to the ground, shivering and shaking more than a little]

Th-th-thanks... I hope I gave you the--the fight you were looking for... I hope y-you're okay... too...

[he crouches down to help her up]

You didn't have to fight, you know.

[ reaching up and accepting the help to slowly stand]

I know, I know... I'm sorry if that's not what you wanted. It was an experiment for me too, getting to test out these powers. I'm not normally someone who can stand on the front lines.

It's not that I didn't want to, but no one has to accept the challenge.

You've got good control of them.

[puffs up a little with pride at that last remark] Mwehehe, I tried my best to use them creatively since I didn't think I could match you in raw power from the start.

It's impressive. Are you all right?

[gives a shivering nod] Cold, damp, tired, but I'm fine. Your powers were really something.

... my powers.

[he curls his fist loosely, looking down at it]
