Apparently you were, because you wake up with a start, cheek pressed uncomfortably to steel flooring and flickering lights overhead. Unfortunately, you don't feel very rested at all.

Unless you are terribly fond of the cold, I would not continue further. Though there is another of him. Older, a little more monstrous looking but rather calm.

[ she's not too fond of the cold, but if she can get herself ( and the mini ) some ice, then it might be worth it to head in there. ]

Do you think I could get some ice from in there? [ peering past him, as if she could see through walls and look directly into that particular room. ] And is that so. Kinda seems like there's a Duality of every flavor here.

Without problem. The ice on top of the lake looked quite shallow indeed.

Do you know how many turns it is to the lake? [ she motions behind him. ] It's two to the exit, [ she jerks a thumb over her shoulder. ] though the door from the hall closed behind me, so we might be kind of stuck down here.

And, yah, though not nearly as well as the two of them, but I'd go as far as to consider us friends.

Three or four I believe. I did get distracted by a memory or two. There will be two hallways to the right one after another. Take the further one. I employed the tried and true method of taking every right. So taking ever left most path should retrace my steps.

Though I do plan to head back that way if you wish me to join you.

[Um. Well they get through some turns and then:

"After a few more steps, you feel your feet sink into the carpet, as if you just stepped into mud. Is this a hallucination too? The oppressive air presses on further, everything feeling just a tad more real than before."

Alexander just teleports across and looks at her expectantly. He has no idea what happens if you stand in it.]

[ she stops and looks down at the ground, looking a bit alarmed. her mech bumps into her, but she grabs a hold of it and hoists herself up onto it, scrambling a bit to keep from sinking further into the 'muck', though there's nothing there. her breathing does become a bit more labored as the air becomes more oppressive, though she grits her teeth, remembering the other room as she instructs the mech to march onward and after alexander. ]

[ she reaches for his arm, not moving off the mech. ]

...you said you remember how to get to the exit, yeah? Instead of going through the maze why don't we go through the maze? [ she makes a snakey pattern to emulate them following the twists and turns of the maze, but then, for the next bit, she just stabs the air in front of her. ] That way we can avoid all of this stuff?

I don't believe I can teleport anyone else but myself. But if you wish to know where the door is.

[He takes a moment to orient himself and then points at a direction.]

Straight through there, but I was attempting to cause the least damage as possible.

[ snorts. ] Of course not, because that would have been too convenient. [ ... ] Not that that’s your fault. [ she huffs, shoulders sinking inward. ] It’s this place, no doubt.

[ looks in the direction he points. ]

[ huh, she... hadn’t been thinking about that. ] Do you think causing damage is a bad thing? [ yes, d.va, you idiot. ] I mean, it’s practically self defense... [ but he’s probably got the right idea. ] Alright, that can be, like, a contingency plan, if the shit hits the fan of something. Let’s just keep going.

[ looks taken aback for a minute. she just kind of thought this was all a dream or something. ]

We're in Duality's soul? [ well now she's just kind of creeped out. ] But, ah, yeah, sure.

[ well that sure is... a memory. once again she looks pretty stunned, but she manages to bury whatever she's feeling about it for now. there's certainly a lot to unpack there, but now's neither the time nor the place. ]
