Your sleep is restless, and it's hard to settle as your eyelids refusing to stop twitching, and you can feel an itch at the back of your mind, flashes of uncomfortable thoughts dipping in and out of your dreams, constantly interrupting your tries to relax. ... Are you even asleep?

Apparently you were, because you wake up with a start, cheek pressed uncomfortably to steel flooring and flickering lights overhead. Unfortunately, you don't feel very rested at all.

I... am, yeah. [ she looks at a few of the burns she's got. ] Do you want to try bandaging me up? I could use a stellar doc like yourself.

Mine are bad, though...

I can teach you as we go. [ hands him a couple of 'bandages'. ]

[ she's going to explain exactly what he has to do, slowly, so he can follow along after she offers up her arm. ]

[he tries his best, but it's not perfect]

[ she smiles. ] Not bad, Duality! Look at that. [ admires the job he's done. ] You're getting better!

[he tugs at the hem of his shirt, hesitant, clearly uncomfortable with the subject]

I have to... No one else can do it for me.

[ her heart is breaking. ]

...maybe for now. But it's not always going to be like this. Just stay strong, alright, and keep your chin up as best you can. He's not always going to be able to keep your down.

Eventually you're going to make some awesome friends and you're going to look after them like they look after you.

I've never had friends before... I don't know how to make friends.

You keep saying that you can't do this and you can't do that, but you've done plenty and nothing's happened... and if anybody tries anything, then they'll have to answer to me.

[He rubs at his arm, looking away.]

[ she reaches for his chin, to turn his gaze back on her. ]

It's going to be alright, at least for now...

[He almost freezes, but allows the touch, a little awkward, and then nods silently.]

Where should we go from here?

...I don't know. I'm not supposed to be here.

We should probably keep moving forward...

[ she's going to pick him up and set him on her mech, tokki. ]

[He's doing this best to keep his balance, but seems to be doing fine.]

I'm not really sure. I kind of made it down here by accident. [ she's going to start heading through the maze. she'll be getting assaulted by his memories and nightmares, because emet already experienced them, but she'll do her best to act like everything's ok in front of the kid. ]

[ but everything is definitely not ok.
she's a bit breathless and feeling dizzy... ]
