Heart Game: Hurricane - Run 2

[At first, all is still; all is silent.]

[The only light is the light from your phone, where a checklist has taken over the screen. It reads:]

[Then the light comes up, bright, and then brighter, and you are in…]

[Glances at the countdown.]

- three hours and fifty-four minutes. I need to get you ready, and you need to get moving immediately.

[The chair doesn't protest, though Intensity makes an unamused sound.]

There's current status and stability - damaged, but functional - and abilities (insufficient), and weapon specs.]

[There's the angle of the sun in winter, and the wind interference, and the systems diagnostics for the repairs on the room down the hall. There's audio being processed through the comms, and the programming for the interior temp controls (below recommended average), and a systems update running on twenty-three different systems simultaneously. There's 45 floating-point operations per second.]

[There's everything.]

[It's thrumming in the air and filling up your skin and clawing out the soft parts in your head to make room.]

[There's everything, and it just won't stop.]

[Right up until it does.]

[All at once, it flicks out like a light when the switch is flipped, and in its place there's just you, sitting in a metal chair again.]

[Gain +1 to all Wis rolls, permanently.]

[WOW THAT'S A LOT]

Nooot sure what you just did, but I guess I'm good to go now, huh?

Mm. You'll be able to sync with whatever R&D prepared for you.

Now get moving. You have incoming in -

[He checks the countdown.]

- Three hours and twenty-seven minutes.

[a little salute, sliding off the chair again]

[OUT THE CHAIR TO DRAPE ON]

[OH NO DRAPE, goes to take a step back automatically but then realises, actually, this could be danger and he is fine with C being close in that case.]

So this is Hurricane-kun's heart.

[CATCHES THAT STEP BACK and changes his movement so he's not actually draping but grabbing his hand and swinging it. NOTHING AWKWARD HERE]

[That's fine. He could probably use a hand staying upright right now]

Intensity-san told me then immediately jammed a wire to connect me to it into my head and I saw forever.

With the whole incoming attack thing, staying ignorant doesn't sound like the best of ideas.

It's true but be careful. We're going to beat them.

The real question is if we're supposed to.

But that would be preferable! I get to see Mori-chan in action.

I don't really want to find out what happens to Hurricane-kun, or to any of us, if we lose. We've got four hours to prepare, let's find out if that action is the best way to win.
