Heart Game: Hurricane - Run 2

[At first, all is still; all is silent.]

[The only light is the light from your phone, where a checklist has taken over the screen. It reads:]

___ Find the True Heart

[Then the light comes up, bright, and then brighter, and you are in…]

The harbingers, of course. Stay still, and I'll get you ready. You need to get moving as soon as possible.

Get moving? Where exactly are we headed?

Out. You can't exactly repel an attack from HQ, can you?

[As he talks, he tugs one of the wires down from the ceiling and circles over to stand by Yugi.]

[ oh dear. so we're going to go fight the harbingers. ]

Is there anything you can tell us about them? Before we head out. Any known weaknesses or, ah, things of that nature? [ looks up at intensity when he comes over. ]

Most things that will hurt us hurt them, fortunately. Gunfire, blades, explosions. They're just more resilient than we are.

Lean your head forward for me?

Good to know...

[ seems reluctant, because his neck is an incredibly sensitive area. ]

What are you going to do?

Plug you in, of course.

[ wat. ]

Ah, o- ok, sure. [ this makes all the sense. ]

[ going to slowly lean forward. ]

[You feel fingers in the hair at the base of your skull, and then soft pressure and a click like cutlery on a metal pan.]

[In an instant, there's everything.]

[There's the city center and the routes through it and the danger level for expected incoming games. There's the vid feed over San Francisco, half standing, and the Tokyo-F dorms, and the rooftops, and everything beyond. There's current status and stability - damaged, but functional - and abilities (insufficient), and weapon specs.]

[There's the angle of the sun in winter, and the wind interference, and the systems diagnostics for the repairs on the room down the hall. There's audio being processed through the comms, and the programming for the interior temp controls (below recommended average), and a systems update running on twenty-three different systems simultaneously. There's 45 floating-point operations per second.]

[There's everything.]

[It's thrumming in the air and filling up your skin and clawing out the soft parts in your head to make room.]

[There's everything, and it just won't stop.]

[Right up until it does.]

[All at once, it flicks out like a light when the switch is flipped, and in its place there's just you, sitting in a metal chair again.]

[Gain +1 to all Wis rolls, permanently.]

[Mori looks so confused and keeps. Staring and blinking and staring he just doesn't??? Understand????]

[ and now yugi is looking a bit confused. does mori not remember him? if so, that may be for the best, since they didn't really get along, because of all the mistakes he made during the battle royale... ]

King, yeah, I'm his other half, Yugi.

[Someone sure did erase all memory of Yugi's existence from his head and now he can't seem to comprehend that he's standing in front of him?? This is weird. This is so weird but he's trying not to be rude about it.]

His other half.... I've seen you in some memories, Yugi-san. I didn't know you were here, when did you arrive?

[ u- understandable. but, uhm, this is kind of strange, and he's not sure how to approach this, especially since mori seems to be having difficulty with it. ]

I've been here for a long while. In Tokyo-F, I mean, but if you're, uhm, talking about here here... then... [ he gives a sheepish laugh, trailing off. ]

[Oh he must have arrived while Mori was transferred, kind of odd that nobody mentioned it before but hey these things happen]

Here here should be pretty new for all of us. It's Hurricane-kun's heart.

[ he might have to pull mori aside when they're not in hurricane's heart to talk with him, because yugi would like to try to start over, assuming he'd like to try that as well. ]

True. And is that where we are. [ he takes another look around. ] So do you know who the harbingers are? Intensity mentioned going to fight them... [ something he seems worried about. ]

[Of course he would like to start anew with this nice boy that is so important to his teammate :)]

I know they're an enemy from Hurricane-kun's world, but not much more than that. Apparently they can be fought, but they're very resilient. What they're like to fight is probably influenced by Hurricane-kun's perception of them too, we have four hours to find out the best way to win here.

Can you fight?

[ WHOOPS. ]

Yugi!

[ ... Is it a good thing or a bad thing that he's here. ]

[ he could say the same thing about you, king. ]

King!

Did he do that-- thing-- to you too?

[ Making a gesture like a wire to the back of his head. ]

Yeah. [ he reaches to take king's hand, so they can head into the hall together. ]

He said it would help in fighting the harbingers...
