[At first, all is still; all is silent.]

[The only light is the light from your phone, where a checklist has taken over the screen. It reads:]

___ Repair something
___ Protect something
___ Find the True Heart
___ Survive

[Then the light comes up, bright, and then brighter, and you are in…]

[When you turn the picture frame over, you can see that it's this family photo of early HSS. Once it was neatly framed, but now the glass is shattered, jagged shards spilling across the floor.]

[As soon as your fingertips brush the wood of the frame, a wave of feeling washes through you, so sudden and intense that it takes your breath away. It starts sweet and low, a warm glow somewhere deep in your chest - a sense of belonging, of contentment.]

[It doesn't last. It twists, and lurches sideways, a shock that feels like missing a step in the dark, on a staircase you thought you knew well. There's a hole, suddenly, where all that warmth used to be, and other things rush in to fill it: shame, and a bone-deep disappointment in yourself, and the aching certainty that of course you'd gotten it wrong.]

[Of course you had.]

Resisting the urge to just start tearing up, scrubbing at his face. Mori clears the shards away from the frame and sets it down, smoothing out the photo. He leaves the shards on the floor. It's broken and clearing those away won't fix it. But that shouldn't still tarnish those memories.]

I miss them a lot too. Those early days, the five of us, it felt like no matter what happened we could take it on together.

But what happened wasn't any of our fault. We're going to get them back Hurricane-kun. And we can still make something good with our teammates now. You still belong with us. You belong with me.

[There's no response, but there seems to be a... softening, of sorts, when he clears away the glass and smooths the photo.]

[Then the announcement sounds and he doesn't have time for much more]

Hurricane-kun, I have to go. I'm going to fight for you. Let's talk about this when you're awake, okay? I know you hate talking about things like this, and it's okay if you're not ready yet, but, I'd like to at least try.
