Heart Game: Hurricane - Run 3

[At first, all is still; all is silent.]

[The only light is the light from your phone, where a checklist has taken over the screen. It reads:]

___ Repair something
___ Protect something
___ Find the True Heart
___ Survive

[Then the light comes up, bright, and then brighter, and you are in…]

[ With the battle being over and the team regrouping, Hiryuu approaches the front of the barricaded church doors. She doesn't attempt to make entry or to get too close--who knows what other weapons he might have in there--but she is certainly well within ear shot as she addresses him. ]

Priest! There's no point remaining behind these doors. The horrors are gone: you and your... "flock" no longer need to hide. Whatever judgment you thought was to come to pass has not. Refusing to change or let go and face the future with hope--there's no good, no virtue, that can come of it. Come out.

[ Charisma 19. ]

[There's silence inside for a long, long few moments. Then the priest's voice comes, over the megaphone, its volume louder than even before:]

For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.

[Um...

[So what do you even say to that?

[Wednesday has been trying to think of something to follow upo with, but all she manages is:]

Oh.

[ Listen she doesn't even know what a priest is or what any of that means, but that just pisses her off more. KICKS THE DOOR. ]

Uh, did you pay any attention just now?! We just took out a whole army of flying nightmare-giving demon things! We have a flamethrower and magic sparkles! And you're like, one normal old guy with a knife! GIVE IT UP.

[ ... Charisma 22 ]

And when he had opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven about the space of half an hour. And I saw the seven angels which stood before God; and to them were given seven trumpets.

[There is feedback, as of a megaphone cutting off. There is motion through the crack in the doorway, a shadow as though something moves on the other side.]

[braces himself, not drawing a weapon (yet) but 1000% ready to dart in to yank Sabre away from the door if he needs to]

[Okay.

[Okay. The others are speaking up somehow--]

Mr. Priest...! They're right, there's five of us - you know you can't fight off all of us! You've lost, and you're being ridiculous, and you know it - you can't escape that by hiding away in there forever! Can you?

[INT: 25]

And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given unto him much incense, that he should offer with the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne.

[The voice is softer, now. It is no longer spoken into the megaphone, but whispered against the door, a soft, fervent whisper.]

And the smoke of the incense, with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel's hand. And the angel took the censer, and filled it with fire of the altar, and cast into the earth: and there were voices, and thunderings, and lightnings, and an earthquake.

[The ground begins to roll - slowly at first, almost gentle, but as the priest's voice raises, so too does the pitch and roil of the earth beneath your feet. There is a horrific cracking sound, and then pieces of the church begin to rain down, the rock and crumbling roof tiles pattering down like rain.]

[Far above, thick, dark clouds have gathered. They are not the unusual shade of red that harbored the harbingers, but lightning forks across the sky, and thunder rumbles, so low and deep that you feel it in your chest.]

[Everyone roll Dex and Con.]

[Wednesday screams, pitched off her feet--

[This was a really bad idea.]

[DEX: 9]
[CON: 7]

[The force of the earthquake knocks you from your feet. As you struggle on the ground to find your feet again, one of the stones from the wall of the church shatters above you, plummeting to earth to shatter against you.]

[1 dam from the fall; 1 dam from the debris.]

[ Dex 29, con 17

She yelps and attempts to pounce out of the way as the church begins to crumble around them. ]

[You manage to keep your feet, though barely, nimbly dodging the falling debris.]

[The ground goes still; all is silent. Then, from within the church, the priest's voice lifts again, wild with some unnameable emotion.]

And the seven angels which had the seven trumpets prepared themselves to sound. The first angel sounded, and there followed hail and fire mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth: and the third part of trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up.

[Above you, the dark clouds split wide; hailstones the size of golf balls begin to rain down onto the cracked pavement, making the sound as though a thousand boots feet are drumming all at once. The hail does not stop; it grows heavier, and heavier, and soon, with the ice comes blood. And soon, with the blood comes fire.]

[Everyone roll Dex and Con.]

Noticing Wednesday get hit and realizing there's another wave coming, she whips a grav bomb into the air to shield them from the incoming hail -- dex 29 ]

[You manage to keep your feet, nimbly dodging the falling debris.]

[The grav bomb keeps the hail from falling onto you, though for now it is just hovering in the air.]

[She keeps her footing this time, healing herself up as she does so.

[She raises one arm as if to protect herself from the hail, glancing frantically around them at the others--

[This was a terrible idea.]

[DEX: 20]
[CON: 22]

Also, calling Intensity or Yoshioka on the comms for advice. He doesn't want to wreck Hurricane's heart by destroying something/someone important]

[The grenade spins through the air, where it falls against the ancient wood of the door. When it explodes, wood shards go flying everywhere, leaving the door in ruins.]
