Ah, so charity work! That's very admirable, on top of the work of being a mother. Are Martians part of your charity work at all? I imagine it's quite common to meet them here. [Seeing as he's meant to learn their language and there are nonhumans here. He's just making assumptions.]

[ she blushes a little, despite herself, at the compliment. ]

Oh, well... I've been doing a lot of work with the refugee situation out of Meepsoor, though I've also been spending some time with the Maozooni in Ideaus Fons. Though, really, most of my work is at the house for women I built in Whitechapel, in London.

...whenever my family can be convinced to let me out on my own, at least. I know I'm but a woman, but I can't just leave the work...

I... I know that feeling. My health is frail, so my parents used to keep me at home more often than not, but it is good that you don't only leave to work, but you get to come to this function as well, hm?

I have been getting to work with Martians a little bit lately myself, but it can be a little hard to communicate at times. Would you have any tips? I'm still quite young and untested yet.

[ she smiles, although there's a tinge of... bittersweetness, to it? ]

I've had the fortune of having some Martian... well, Martians I've been acquainted with. I'm not sure if I could really say we were friends, but—I've learned a lot, from some of them.

I'm not entirely sure I understand all of it, but they don't have family structures like yours or mine—they're arranged into groups called kiimas, that determine their profession. So they tend to think it's strange, if you talk about choosing a profession, unless they're one of the Maozooni.

Ah! That makes sense. [He nods.] That would cause quite the culture shock, I imagine.

Well, thank you for speaking with me, Miss. It has been lovely, and I hope I get to dance with you later in the night, but I must be off~

Oh, of course! Ah, but, before you go—

Could I trouble you for a charitable donation? If you happen to have any influence over low or high society, as well, I'd appreciate it, as I have too few hands for my projects. I'm sure I could do you a favor, in turn.

Of course! It's only fair, isn't it? You've been lovely to speak with, and a great help to me.

[He'll offer a high society influence, however that looks ICly.]

[ you exchange something akin to business cards; she hands you 2 x "Honor The Cause of Your Kiima" influence, whatever that means. ]

I'm glad I could help! I hope you have a lovely rest of the evening.

[Whatever that means indeed! He's got no clue, but he will accept it graciously, as he was raised to do.]

And you as well.

[With that, he will leave her, heading for the observation deck.]
