the nonhumans do look delighted to see you, though; they look a lot like Paloma, in fact. the taller one in ceremonial armor speaks up first, in a languid sort of accent that once again sounds a bit like Paloma's. ]

For a scientist and a noble to hold hands... it could look very strange. However, this entire heart is quite strange in its own way. It should be fine.

Strangely, I am reminded of home. The nobles always held such large frivolous gatherings. A scientist at a large social event of this scale would be unfounded and I did not know of any scientists at all.

Any scientifically minded guest would be a scholar with very high renown, a respected scholar who is being funded by a present noble, or someone who is already very wealthy and revered.

[So like a sugar daddy?????]

I guess maybe you're just one of those cool scientists then.
