BATTLE MECHANICS

This is a turn-based fight. PCs will take their turn, the boss will react, and then the boss will take their turn. Players will react and take their turn, and so on and so forth.

You may take up to six actions in one turn, including dodge. You may attack up to 6 times if you're not dodging, and you can attack even if you are dodging or fail to dodge. If a swing delivers more than one attack (throwing multiple projectiles at the same time) then it's counted as one "action".

With every strike/blow/attack, .roll 1d6 twice (or !2d6. MAKE SURE TO DO IT THIS WAY BECAUSE NADEKO IS A TRAITOR. The first dice determines whether your attack succeeds or fails, with 1-3 as fail and 4-6 as success. The second dice determines how much damage you inflict on the boss. Please include both numbers with your comment on your turn.

Roll for every strike, not for every turn. If your character decides to shoot 4 times in succession, roll a 2d6 for every bullet.

Green text can be dodged, but red text is guaranteed damage. Dodge by using a 1d6, 1-3 as fail and 4-6 as success.

UNIT ABILITY MECHANICS ARE HERE, but please note: this is not the end-all be-all of how these powers can be used, and these are not the only powers that can be used in a fight, these are just the ones that affect rolls specifically. The session's runner always has the final say, so ask if you want to do something cool but you don't think it's street legal. (It probably is.)

Note: characters that are heavily injured may acquire corruptions. There will be heavy maiming.

EFFECTS LIST
Black substance, both sticky and acidic
A sticky substance that seems to cling to everything it touches, and is impossible to pull off. It melts through flesh, but the more it melts, the more it seems to become absorbed. Sufficient absorption of this substance in any capacity (skin absorption, digestion) will result in corruptions that may be permanent. May be removed by severing the affected area, or by bringing the affected area to the deadzone.

[Levi isn't exactly a comforting person to her at the best of times, never mind when she's coming fresh off a violent scrap with demons and freaked out because she can't hear.

She backs up, pulling her bloodied arm in close to her side while pointing a hastily summoned sword at him with the other (the tip trembles and droops, despite what she's trying to project, she's not really whole enough to wield it properly). Her ears are flat and tail lashing, her body language warding, not aggressive, and her voice is overly loud when she answers.]

I didn't do anything but help win the stupid fight! The demons did all this damage, so––so stay away from me!

[ . . . . . . . . . . . how to...deal with this.

His hands drop and so does all of the glowing. This time he reaches into his pocket to find his phone. He merely brings up a note screen and types as quickly as his claw allows him to.

Once finished, he holds it up for her to read. But if she won't...read it that way he'll text it to her. ]

I want to heal your injuries before we get attacked by these creatures again.

After that I can leave if that will make you more comfortable.

[She'll read it –– squinting a little to see the text at a distance –– and regards him with a suspicious look, lowering the blade slightly but keeping it at the ready.]

. . .Then get someone else.

[ Bringing his phone back to him to type. ]

Are you alright with Lucifel? He was with me and should not be far still.

[She takes a moment to respond, glancing to the side –– seriously the vet is the worst what if she just fits herself into a small dark space instead??? –– but that's obviously not the smart route to go here, so.]

Fine.

Alright.

[He nods and lifts a finger up to ask her for a moment. He'll immediately text Lucifel then.

Leviathan: Lucifel. I need your help with a heal. ]

higanbana: Where are you?

Leviathan: I am here.

[ He sends his location along with the text. ]

Leviathan: Thank you

[ After that, he looks back up to Kohime after typing up another message to her. ]

He will be here very shortly.

[ in a few minutes he's trotting over to the arcade, and ]

[ i JUST SAW THE OTHER CAT BE POSSESSED BY AN EVIL SWORD ]

—ah, Kohime-san—

[HOPE YOU'RE READY

She's pointing a sword in Levi's general direction with her ears flat and bleeding heavily from her other arm, and doesn't notice Lucifel's approach at all until he's actually in her line of sight.]

[ sssslowly inching into her line of sight, a little further away than levi ]

. . . Kooohiiiime-san?

[ Thank you he is going to trade off with you, Luci. ]

Thank you for coming. We don't get along very well as you can tell but she needs help.

[ He lifts his hand up in Lucifel's direction so that she can see. ]

I should leave for your sakes.

[ holding both hands up like. look ma no weapons ]

[Slowly. . . lowering the sword. . . though on the anxiety scale she's still like an 8 or a 9.]

I. I can't hear you, so. . .

[ Leviathan nods and takes a step back. ]

She can't hear well at the moment, so whatever you say she won't hear until you are able to heal her.

. . . I am sorry to force you to come and disappear. But we can speak after.

[ He bows to Lucifel, gives Kohime a brief one... and will back up further, and then search out others who may still need help. ]

[She hesitates, still not letting go of the sword. ]

[ Either is fine. If you want to put the sword right here, you can.

and then, tapping on his own neck ]

[She shifts the sword to her bad hand, then, holding out the good (or... better one, anyway) one. ]

Stupid. Like I’m going to give you a story for that other creep later.

[ looking confused while he's gently pressing a hand to hers, numbing her pain. what else is going on with her body besides the ears also

perhaps if he looks confused enough she'll know he doesn't know who the creep is ]

[Crushing damage to both arms! But her biggest problem is she carved her arm up pretty badly a couple days ago and the demon’s attack ripped the injuries open — probably worse than they were. ]

[ ouchies

both arms heal, leaving behind scars for the carves, though the farther one slower than the one he's touching—she'll also feel her eardrums start to heal if they're damaged, given deafness, though as noted earlier it's slower than her good arm is healed ]

[Some of the tension goes out of her as she heals, flicking an ear as a funny ringing starts as her hearing starts coming back. ]

[ keeping her hand held, giving her what he hopes is a comforting smile—once he's done healing, he's revoking the numbing so she can feel pain again if there's anything else that hurts ]

Is there anything else that hurts?
