IMPOCALYPSE
BATTLE MECHANICS
Note: characters that are heavily injured may acquire corruptions. There will be heavy maiming.
- This is a turn-based fight. PCs will take their turn, the boss will react, and then the boss will take their turn. Players will react and take their turn, and so on and so forth.
- You may take up to six actions in one turn, including dodge. You may attack up to 6 times if you're not dodging, and you can attack even if you are dodging or fail to dodge. If a swing delivers more than one attack (throwing multiple projectiles at the same time) then it's counted as one "action".
- With every strike/blow/attack, .roll 1d6 twice (or !2d6. MAKE SURE TO DO IT THIS WAY BECAUSE NADEKO IS A TRAITOR. The first dice determines whether your attack succeeds or fails, with 1-3 as fail and 4-6 as success. The second dice determines how much damage you inflict on the boss. Please include both numbers with your comment on your turn.
- Roll for every strike, not for every turn. If your character decides to shoot 4 times in succession, roll a 2d6 for every bullet.
- Green text can be dodged, but red text is guaranteed damage. Dodge by using a 1d6, 1-3 as fail and 4-6 as success.
- UNIT ABILITY MECHANICS ARE HERE, but please note: this is not the end-all be-all of how these powers can be used, and these are not the only powers that can be used in a fight, these are just the ones that affect rolls specifically. The session's runner always has the final say, so ask if you want to do something cool but you don't think it's street legal. (It probably is.)
Note: characters that are heavily injured may acquire corruptions. There will be heavy maiming.
EFFECTS LIST
- Black substance, both sticky and acidic
- A sticky substance that seems to cling to everything it touches, and is impossible to pull off. It melts through flesh, but the more it melts, the more it seems to become absorbed. Sufficient absorption of this substance in any capacity (skin absorption, digestion) will result in corruptions that may be permanent. May be removed by severing the affected area, or by bringing the affected area to the deadzone.

Re: PLAYER (RE)ACTION
[One snake head sinks teeth into Glory's shoulder, and the other catches her forearm as she raises it to try to block. The venom makes her hiss and waver on her feet, but then she brings the butt of her revolver down to try to smash the heads, too dizzy to make direct hits the first times she tries, but eventually hitting them each with a solid blow.
Attack rolls: [1d6 (1)] [1d6 (6)] [1d6 (2)] [1d6 (4)]
Damage rolls for successes: [4d6 (1 5 5 6)] / [4d6 (3 2 1 4)]
Then she fumbles to reload her gun, a bit unsteadily, and yells in the direction of everyone who chopped off snake heads.]
Be more careful with those things!
Re: PLAYER (RE)ACTION
He decides to maybe not fly at high speeds while suddenly dizzy and instead starts running along the side of a building, taking himself back to the chimera with his talons sharpened by 10% furry and hurls himself onto the thing's shoulders. Four strikes to try and take out any nearby snakes, and the other two for the face and eyes of the beast as sprints up one of it's less damaged heads, flips, and aims to take out two eyes at once.]
[He is using 10% furry (raptor talons = str) and concrete jungle (speed). In places where the initial attack check fails, used third dice for another attack, in places where the initial attack check succeeded, used third dice for additional strength]
Attack 1: 3,2 (attack check 6, Success! 2 dmg)
Attack 2: 2,4 (attack check 2, fail)
Attack 3: 5,6 (damage check, +4, 10 dmg)
Attack 4: 3,1 (attack check 6, Success! 1 dmg)
Attack 5: 1,2 (attack check 2, fail)
Attack 6: 5,5 (damage check, +3 8 dmg)
Re: PLAYER (RE)ACTION
[ Gold quickly uses Warpstrike to pull himself away to the top of the grocery store (Dodge: 6) and dodge that initial attack. Once he's back on his feet on the roof, he summons three more swords using Living Forge above the snake head targeting him, placing them above its wings and body to try and pin it on the ground (Hit: 4 || Dmg: 2, Hit: 6 || Dmg: 1, Hit: 5 || Dmg: 5). Another sword is summoned on the roof of a higher up building, giving himself more options to escape. ]
[ With one more sword, he tries summoning a larger broadsword over the chimera, poised to impale the body from above with its fall (Hit: 4 || Dmg: 5). ]

BOSS REACTION
BOSS ACTION
Whether you're stunned or not from that, the chimera rears up to pounce Glory, swiping at Sekhmet along the way; several of the snake tails elongate, opening up to a mouth full of tiny human hands that reach out to grab two chunks of flesh out of Scythe before moving on to try swallowing Pink whole, black substance oozing from the snake's insides. The last strikes at Cypress, taking a chunk out of her. ]

He only gets a bit deafened on one side. Either way, Pink has probably been caught in a snake's coil's because there's no way for him to dodge. He tries to wedge the snake's idk sudden horrible tentacle maw open with his staff as it splits open and swallows down around him--he can't swing his weapon but there's a reason you don't put livewires in your mouth. Absolutely vibrating with conducted zaps.

[ He's more nervous now about getting snuck up on, especially as he spots the tails going after multiple targets. And he REALLY doesn't want to do this, but slash damage seems to not be as effective as they like so. Time for slam damage. ]
[ He Warpstrikes up to the sword furthest away from the creature, looking around at the people gathered before his eyes landing on Silence, okay good, he can work with this maybe. He tries to Warpstrike back down to one of the swords, but with the way the creature is moving, his first attempt yields nothing (Hit: 3). His second try sends him slamming into one of the swords earlier impaled in the (Hit: 6, Dmg: 5) and... promptly panicking a little because oh shit he's actually on it now, what does he do up here besides grab onto the other sword and call out. ]

the good thing about not being targeted is that she can close in and slash the thing with her own blades while it's distracted with everyone else, thanks guys you're great at this, BUT NO MORE SHOOTING FOR JYANTA BECAUSE MY CHILD? YOU SUCK AT THIS

Between the bullets and the claws and the electricity and the slashes, the beast gives one final cry and then crashes onto the ground—only, when it crashes it just dissolves into billows of smoke, leaving behind nothing but an ominous dark fog.
Everyone who was eaten is now free. Yay! There might still be some black substance on some of you, though. . .
. . . There seems to be a horrible rushing sound coming from somewhere, the earth shaking like there's something moving underneath, but . . .
For now—for now, at least, you can tend to your wounds. ]
