Yvette's super fun spy simulator: Session I

Objective: Convince Yvette to leave the Ideal World.
The following is ICly known:
  • Unit abilities are off :)
  • Yvette is actively trying to sabotage players
  • One tactic is making interaction "pay for play," using memories, specifically those of Yvette. (max 5)
  • After 5 memories have been exhausted, false memories will be implanted
  • Planted memories will not be accepted as Payment.
  • Alternate Payment is negotiable, but the player will lose whatever they give her
  • Use of force is highly inadvisable, and the condition for success is extremely low. Failure will result in a false memory.
  • Your smartphone works, and can be used to document inconsistencies in the Ideal World.

tl;dr The more evidence you collect, the more convincing you are; memories can be used to unlock certain things, but if they run low, you get mindfucked (probably).
All things lost or received during the game will be reversed upon waking or within one IC day, at player’s discretion. The character does not know this ICly.

The key is to move with confidence in this kind of environment, you know. Like you're the most important person in the room.

Ah, Paloma-san--!!

But... what if I'm really not... that person?
marsascending: (I find comfort in the sound)

Well, you imagine someone who is. Do you know someone well who's really confident?
marsascending: (to the bird with no flight)

So, well—pretend someone's handed you a script for playing the part of me, then.
wonderlandgirl: (✽ strong enough)

You wouldn't mind that? We don't know each other that well, so...

Of course not! If someone's making an earnest effort and striving to improve, then I like to be encouraging, after all.

And acting is fun.
wonderlandgirl: (✽ play more serious)

Um, well...

[She takes a breath. Ugh, that was a mistake.]

If I was really the most important person in the room I'd tell everyone to smoke outside. I'm an idol, I can't smell of cigarettes, and it's terrible for the throat.

And the complexion.
marsascending: (tired of all these cameras flashing)

That's the spirit.

The most important person in the room—everyone's watching them, so all you need to do is show your disdain for it in your body language. Chin up, turn your face away sharply—in England's high society they used to call that the cut direct.

Oh, like this?

[Maybe, if she thinks of it as dance steps, it won't be that hard to follow? She knows how to follow direction about poses, right?

[That didn't feel all that off.]

You're really getting it! It takes practice, though, and these are stand-ins, so it's a good time to try it more.
wonderlandgirl: (✽ boo you whore)

Thank you, Paloma-san..

Ooh, but I wish I could really make them stop smoking! It smells awful in here.

It really is a bit dire...

Perhaps you should ask our hostess about it. These people are all cardboard, so it's probably more like her idea of ambiance...
wonderlandgirl: (✽ wondering about you)

Well, maybe I should? It can't be much fun for her, either, can it? I don't think anyone actually likes this smell.
marsascending: (this is the start of how it all ends)

Nothing wrong with asking! It's what gets people places in life.

I hope we can get her out of here, Paloma-san. The cardboard people just make this sort of... sad. It would be sort of fun if it wasn't for them.

Oh, is she an actor at home?

One of my bandmates is an actor, too. She's been doing it since she was little.

[THIS IS ABOUT THE MOST POSITIVE SPIN YOU CAN PUT ON THIS]

Ah, you could say that. You should ask her about her experience yourself, sometime—it's very colorful.

She's put it to a lot of unconventional uses.
