Ascian's Ideal World: First Run

You are in a dark place. All you can here is ticking for a long, long while.

Then a bright light, a pure white crystal, taller than the dorms itself, appears in front of you. It's voice echoes in your mind.

Hear.... Feel... Think...
A Light there once was that shone throughout this realm... yet it has since grown dim
And as it has faltered so has the Darkness risen up in its stead, presaging an end to life.
For the sake of us all, I beseech thee deliver us from this fate.
If thou would pierce the shadows... make thee a blade of light.
Hold onto it, child.
Return His Dark servants to your realm.
But beware, ever is He trying to grow his power. Do not get caught.

And the light vanishes you find yourself with a crystal in your hand.

Though you are again left in in Darkness before you find yourself in a vast city standing in front of a large teleportation device.

Objectives (if your character can translate Hydaelyn vagueness):
1) Convince both Ascians to leave
2) Don't get tempered :) (or killed if you don't like mind control)

Additionally you may choose EITHER canon or OR imeeji powers to be active. You can wait to decide until you use a power, but once you use a power that powerset is locked in as your choice.

Also if people are in the same area as you feel free to mingle. It is in fact encouraged. Also your phones work only to text and take pictures (basically for the purpose of communicating in case you are in different spots).

GAME START

If I shouldn't be here then neither should you.

[ he reaches for him, hands on his shoulders, gripping him maybe a little tighter than necessary because he's still shaken up ]

Listen to me Hades. You don't have to go through it again. The sacrifice and the summoning — it can't be the only solution. Leave with me.

[Taking his hands and shoving them off.]

And doom all of this to fail. What madness do you speak of?

You're going to go through with this and you're going to be miserable. I'm not letting you.

We already time traveled once, didn't we. Then we know how to go back again. If you need more time to come up with a different solution then find it.

This doesn't have to be it.

This is the solution. There is no other way to prevent the Final Days as much as you and I would like otherwise. Lord Zodiark must exist.

[ he's going to bring a hand to the back of his neck and pace around for a few more moments. He knows from experience that averting his eyes is not going to cut it, so if Emet goes with the summoning he'll get tempered.

And after that vision not being in control of himself doesn't sound great, and he's no longer so sure of what's real and what is not. ]

What about Hydaelyn? She will always come back and then you'll be right back where you started.

That is the difference. Without the land being damaged we will not need the further sacrifice which is what the naysayers did deem most egregious. The land will be full of life and continue to create aether which we will use to revive our sacrificed brethren.

There will be no need for that which they were opposed.

[ no that doesn't feel right. But would arguing even make a difference? Emet is already tempered so no matter what he says it won't matter. And he gave him the crystal that was, probably, supposed to be used against him during this whole thing. ]

Then you're not doing it alone.

I can't deny your presence will be a comfort. And I know you can be as stubborn as I am.

If I'm getting tempered anyway I might as well be there. ... And you really shouldn't be alone for this.

[ he's going to reach for his hand this time, so he can squeeze it. Hopefully this really is just a game messing up with their heads and he's not going to end up killing everyone he loves ]

I'm here with you no matter what.

We do plan on keeping the Tempering to those on the Convocation. More than enough of His Servants.

[He does squeeze back.]

Five, this is a solution. One that we have hoped for.

Ideally you'd avoid getting tempered yourself, but I suppose I'll take that.

I'm only worried about you. I will not meddle with the summoning, but I will intervene if I believe you're in danger.

Five. I'm already Tempered.

[ he brings a hand to the back of his neck again, rubbing at it and sighing, he's obviously still disoriented but he's trying to keep it together ]

Right. And I suppose you stayed like that. Sounds like we failed at basically everything, huh.

[Taking him into an embrace to try to calm his agitation.]

No. We did not fail. Perhaps a change of scenery would help.

[ that does seem to help some in calming him down, but the fear is still very deep and boy is it good that he doesn't have creation powers ]

You said you have work to do. I'll be fine.

[He rubs his back and takes out the earring.]

This is a protective charm.

[He puts it in Five's hand.]

You don't have to wear it, but I would like you to keep it.

[ he doesn't protest it this time, just closes his hand over it and nods ]

... All right. Just this once, I suppose.

I'm sorry that it isn't perfect to you, Five. But it is simply the way it must be.

I don't care about "perfect". I never did. But you deserve happiness, and I know this will hurt.

[ he sighs and puts the earring into a pocket, so it'll stay close ]

I just wish you wouldn't have to. But I understand. It's never that easy.

[He kisses the top of his head.]

Thank you, Five. And I wish I could soothe you and tell you that this is the best path.

[ He doesn't believe for a moment that this is the best path, he's pretty sure this is just Zodiark talking, not Emet. But the kiss does bring him comfort, and the last thing he wants is to cause additional suffering for him. ]

Best or not I'm here with you. Whatever happens.

[He just continues enjoying the embrace until his stiffens sharply, scowling, eyes distant.]

What is he---?

[Breaking the timelines a little as he is now aware of Absinthe's, well, appetite. He looks at Five and then down towards the floor.]

Come. Something is not right underneath the city.

[He leaves the embrace and motions for him to follow as he disappears in a portal of black and purple energy.]

[Five has the directions so he should easily be able to follow, but then the earth starts to shake and the ground starts to crack, and maybe through the smoke and debris he can see Absinthe (and subsequently the fight below, but that is up to him).

However, when he gets ready to make the teleport....]

[... his mind freezes immediately. Pain dull and pounding slipping through his psyche. A cry for aide that isn't his own echoing in his very soul. He's felt this way once before, in a dream when he went through a burning building and got close. Far too close. When he thought he could foolishly hide ---- that his will was any match for Him.

It's dull and keening and begging in it's intent, but it is so foreign and thrashing in its madness to save itself that it roots him in the spot. His limbs don't respond to his commands. His powers out of reach as the voice howls in his mind.

It feels very reminiscent of the fear vision he had, too. Your body being no longer your own. A puppet of someone else's. It won't be a simple matter to shake it off, but ....

Why would he be Tempered in Hades' ideal world? He knows instinctively it was not from the fear vision.

Why, indeed.]

[ There's no way he wouldn't join in with that fight, and he's ready to teleport—

But then he can't. He's not in control of himself and all he can think of is the pain inflicting by that cry.

It was terrifying the first time it happened, and it's not any better now - all the more so with the vision he had before still so fresh in his mind.

Hades had said that only the convocation would be Tempered — but Zodiark is clearly already there, and already influencing them and now him. There's a lot of things that don't add up to this world, starting from Amaurot not actually being saved. Him being Tempered is just another contradiction that doesn't make any sense.

But does it matter? it's not something he can fight against now. And when he wakes up, if he's ever going to wake up, this will have to be a difficult conversation. ]
