Yvette's super fun spy simulator: Session II

Objective: Convince Yvette to leave the Ideal World.
The following is ICly known:
  • Unit abilities are off
  • Yvette is actively trying to sabotage players
  • One tactic is making interaction "pay for play," using memories, specifically those of Yvette. (max 5)
  • False memories will not be accepted as Payment.
  • Alternate Payment is negotiable, but will also result in forgetting what is paid (roll 1d6 with a score of 4 or higher for an accepted alternate payment)
  • Use of force is highly inadvisable, and the condition for success is extremely low. Failure will result in a false memory.
  • Your smartphone works, and can be used to document inconsistencies in the Ideal World.
tl;dr The more evidence you collect, the more convincing you are; memories can be used to fast track, but if they run low, you get mindfucked.
All things lost or received during the game will be reversed upon waking or within one IC day, at player’s discretion. The character does not know this ICly.

Every page of every book is filled with:

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit, sed do eiusmod tempor incididunt ut labore et dolore magna aliqua. Ut enim ad minim veniam, quis nostrud exercitation ullamco laboris nisi ut aliquip ex ea commodo consequat. Duis aute irure dolor in reprehenderit in voluptate velit esse cillum dolore eu fugiat nulla pariatur. It is impossible to glean any information from this.

Enjoying your book?

Yvette is the stereotypical model of a bookish librarian: her hair in a long, loose braid, she's wearing horn-rimmed glasses, and her nose in a book.

The Book Drop is also located right by the front desk.

She peers over a book that is easily identifiable as a German Linguistics textbook, Moreso than the books on the shelf.

"Yes, I am. How may I assist you?"

I'd like to check this out, but perhaps after pursuing upstairs. Do you have any suggestions? Also, might I borrow a pen?

She passes over a pen, and pulls out a stack of books, related to the care of cats and dogs. You get the impression any information of substance will cost you.

[He can't help but chuckle.]

Are you trying to tell me my watching over of Ruru is inadequate? Or do you not remember me as well?
tradesecret: (z) You mean you have photographs?)

I see. Well I feel amiss if I did not provide you something. Ah, perhaps I will think of a suitable gift after I head upstairs. Thank you for your time.

Even before you get close to the staircase, the odor of wet paint hits your nose. On closer inspection, this whole section was quickly slapped onto a backdrop.

'Tis not a complaint so much as a question.

[He drums his fingers on the desk.]

One. The puzzle that is you. I have yet to think of a suitable gift or skill you might desire. Do you have a recommendation?

"All the information submitted in every assessment zone is forwarded to the Management, otherwise known as the Library Director, or the one you would call a "True Self," regardless if there is a proctor or not.

Previously accepted methods of payment include: memories of Creme Yvette, a magic trick, covering a work shift, and a kiss."

Which assessment zone is highest in rank next to the director? I have an offering, a memory, but I would rather give it to her personally. But I imagine that is not possible so I'll rely on the next best option.
tradesecret: (z) That sounds like a confession to me.)

No. I can think of one thing more important. And I do believe she needs it more than I. As difficult as it is to part with it.

[He holds out his hand.]

There is more to life than serving others. I know how much she loves her job and I do not wish to part her from it. However, she does not have to be alone.

[And I guess if Yvette takes it, she will get their grandpa/granddaughter date memories!]
tradesecret: (z) Oh; haven't you guessed?)

Re: Library

[personal profile] tradesecret 2020-08-08 11:32 pm (UTC)(link)
I see. I appreciate your contribution, knowing that this holds a lot of weight for you.

[ Taking his hand, and that memory is gone now. ]

If you wish to understand me, if you wish to understand why this place exists at all, you'll find the answer in the Piano Bench of the Practice Room.
