Once, there was a maiden... ...who lived in a tomb, and the tomb was made in her image. Because she lived in a tomb, she became like the dead. She slept, and dreamed. And sometimes, woke, and walked within the confines of her tomb. "Why do you move?" her own ghost asked. "Why walk at all?" "I am not trapped while yet I run," said she.
Wake Persephone from his dream. Convince him to return to reality.
No powers, whether imeeji or canon ones, function while in Persephone's ideal world. You can have whatever items you would have on you, except weapons. Technological items don't function, except for the phone, which only displays the instructions. Weapons can either just be Not Here and return to your possession after leaving the ideal world or they can turn into a flower of your choice and turn back on leaving the ideal world. Any male character who is 1) physically over the age of 20 or 2) identifies as/considers himself an adult temporarily physically deages to being a youth. This is physical only and temporary, it reverses on leaving the ideal world. If you are in the same location as other characters, you can talk to them. Please do, it would amuse me.
You find yourselves standing in a garden, twilight shading towards night, and the moon is beginning to rise. It's a very beautiful garden, peaceful and serene, with all kinds of flowers: white lilies, blooming sakura, all of sensitiv's position flowers both past and present (especially wisteria). An occasional shimmering butterfly will wing its way past.
In addition to the flowers, in the garden is a large pond: very still, very mirrorlike. Water lilies and other aquatic flowers drift across it.
Some distance away, downhill through the garden, is the entrance to a wisteria tunnel.
[Gets to be a teenager again, wahoo! So I guess he's only five and half feet tall or something. He looks himself over and, well, when you discard a thousand thousand mortal bodies there are things that don't bother you after a while.
He's going to kneel by the large pool and look into it.]
Completely unchanged, because he's definitely not an adult and also has 0 weapons. His gaze lingers briefly on some snowdrops before he moves to check out the pond.]
[ The tunnel catches her eye immediately—or, rather, once the strange dreamlike moment passes, where she takes it all in. With her is a leather bag... and a long branch of red camellia. Whoops no naginata.
But before anything else, she too goes to the pond, to gently trail her fingers in the water. ]
[Shu has taken on the appearance of a slightly younger self-- still on the cusp of growing into his adult height, but otherwise much the same. It hasn't been that long since he was this age, after all.
In the garden, surrounded by wisteria, it's clear whose dream this is even without the instructions. He hesitates before heading downhill, since. Well. Things with Persephone are strained...
... he decides to take longer in the garden. Is anyone tending to it? If not, he'll pause to make a bouquet. ]
The entrance to the wisteria tunnel reveals that the tunnel is actually more like a wisteria maze, that is rather similar to the one in Persephone's bedroom.
There are two paths further into the maze: left or right.
[You know how they say if you keep a hand on one wall and follow it, you'll eventually reach the end of the maze? He's employing that now, if a little less literally.
There is no one here, but there is also a small blue-lacquered chest lying among the flowers. It's etched with auspicious symbols (plum patterns, bamboo, cranes, turtles, etc.), it's very elaborately decorated. Like something out of an Edo period (or fantasy equivalent) trousseau and it's a masterwork.
The clearing here has a decent view of the sky, and a single bench, as well as some sakura trees. and more wisteria, of course. also there's a pond, which is sometimes clear, but more often the water is pink from dissolving sakura petals that fall into the water.
and resting among the flowers is a maiden dressed in white, with a book beside him. Looks like you've found Persephone.
there is also a rolled up scroll of white and purple paper, tied with a ribbon, along with a set of the bells carried by a shrine maiden, laid across the flowers like it is an offering.]
[the sky has shattered, the flowers have lost all color, and midnight has fallen in the clearing.
for a moment, all is still, before the world begins to dissolve in a swirl of falling petals. any deaged man and any transformed weapons return to their proper state.]
