Hiryuu Ideal World {Session 3}

WELCOME TO IDEAL WORLDS: ANCIENT PSEUDO-KOREAN DRAGON GODS EDITION.

Your character's primary goal will be to convince Hiryuu to leave her ideal world. This is ICly known.

For the bulk of your character's journey (perhaps, even, the entire journey, depending on what they do along the way) your character will not have access to their unit's powerset. Please see the START for more IC information. Depending on how you go about your quest you may or may not encounter dangers or traumas.

Any items that your character had on their person before entering the game will remain with them for the duration of the game! However, all technological items will cease functioning before they leave the start area. Please see the START for more IC information.

In order to provide some guidance, key components / places are bolded, but just because something isn't in bold doesn't mean you can't interact with it. Go wild!

[ There's no one currently out in the fields at the moment, and it seems like maybe the farm houses (or what would pass for them in this culture; the buildings here look a lot different than most in even modern Tokyo) are inside the village.

The fields seem to be planted with crops that have ripened! You don’t recognize these particular plants, but the patch on the left seems to be some kind of grain, and to the right there’s a gourd of some kind. However… something about them seems strange? ]

[He ventures a little nearer, to take a closer look at the crops]

[What seems so strange about them, anyway?]

[ Upon closer inspection, you realize—they’re fake. The gourds themselves are hard, shiny plastic, and the stalks of grain are made of silk. ]

[Huhhh]

[All of them? He walks a little ways through the field, knocking on the gourds and checking the leaves]

[ Every single one that he checks are fake. ]

[Seems bad, actually,]

[After he's checked a good dozen of them, he gets moving again and heads toward the village]

[ Passing the fence line at the entrance of the village, you see a stables to the left. The village itself is a little on the small side, quaint. There are numerous houses, some with chicken coups and pens for pigs. The houses appear to be dark and empty; their occupants can be heard from deeper in the village, laughing and singing in the distance. ]

[Going to swing by the stable first, to see if there are any traces of Hiryuu]

[Surely a visiting princess would have a fancy horse stabled, right??]

[ The stable is completely empty—in fact, there’s not any sign that any draft animal has ever been kept here, and although the stall seemed whole and well kept on the outside, the interior wood seems to be riddled with rot and termites. ]

[Hmmm]

[Also seems bad,]

[Guess he'd better head toward the festival at the center of town...?]

[ SURPRISE, you’ve found—an entire village’s worth of people in the middle of a festival! Although there are a surprising number of people here that you don’t know (whose faces you seem to forget when you’re not looking at them, though—you do get the impression they’re nearly all elderly—there are also a lot of faces you probably do recognize. (And a lot more than that—the longer you look around, the more it will become apparent… pretty much everyone you know from Imeeji, and maybe even some you might not have expected to see ever again are here.)

Aside from the fireworks display, it looks like there’s going to be some kind of traditional dance, and you can smell something delicious being cooked somewhere. ]

[oh]

[Just]

[Give him a second]

[This is a lot]

[It takes him a beat, before he can pull it back together again - pull up a smile, and head over to Wire]

...uh. Hey, dude.

[ Wire scoops him up into a one-armed hug ]

C'mere boy! Look how big you're getting.

[...oh no........]

Pretty sure I ain't taller than when you left.

[But he sure is hugging back,]

Nonsense. Pretty soon you're gonna be taller than me!

[ he takes him by the shoulders and holds him back at arm's length so he can get a good look at him. ]

Have you had anything to eat yet?

Ah... naw.

I, uh. I actually ain't here for the party.

You seen Hiryuu around here anywhere?

You're not here for the party?

[ wire seems confused but.

He points toward a group of dancers gathered at a tent. ]

She should be over there.

Thanks, dude.

[He hesitates - hesitates longer. Then, quiet:]

...it's good seeing you again. Spidey, too.

[ Wire's cheeks pinken and he laughs, although he still seems a bit befuddled. ]

We've all lived here together for a year now, but.... you know I'm always real happy to see you kids every day.

[Swallows, hard, and ducks his head. He reaches out to catch Wire's hand and give it a squeeze]

I'll catch you later, dude. Kay?

[And then, with not an insignificant amount of effort, he turns to go find Hiryuu]

[ It honestly takes you some time to find her, but Hiryuu can be found among the dancers, wearing a somewhat elaborate costume. She has a set of fans with her. Her hair is no longer the telltale red you’ve always known, but a dark black, and all of her corruptions appear to be mysteriously missing. The bronze heart shaped locket around her neck looks somehow at odds with the traditional dress she’s wearing. ]

[Gives her a hug back]
