Yes. Very bad.

Though I suppose we have two silver linings at this point. One - if this world is awful, it shouldn't be too difficult to convince D.Va to trade one Hell for another.

Second - looks like all of us can't die. At least for the duration of this game.

It may be one Hell for another, but . . . it's a Hell she feels in control of for one she decidedly is not.

[ Dropping his hand finally, fingers flexing to keep from immediately balling into a fist ]

That can be a hard sell.

[Brushes the back of his own hand against King's just for a second]

Garish pink waiting room aside, if she was really in control, do you really think she's the kind of person to continue hosting death games?

Something's... off.

[ He relaxes just slightly at the touch, but not much. ]

I don't know.

But even just from this setup, I'm beginning to wonder if her own happiness is any kind of factor in her own idea of a "perfect" world.

She thinks she's happy if she's useful. She thinks she's happy if she can take the pain so someone else doesn't have to.

She already does all those things.

And I never see her not miserable.

I'm not disagreeing with either of those points. It's just if you max out usefulness and taking the burden to 11, it's no surprise it turned out like ---

And as stubborn as she is, I'm not seeing an easy way to pull her out of this nosedive.

I'm not either. But-- what am I supposed to do, just let her destroy herself? That's not an option either.

I know that's not an option for you.

So you should do what you do best. Get under her skin and show her that the foundation of her carefully constructed perfect world is inherently flawed.

You just have to do it without a duel this time.
