He shoves his way through the foliage more viciously than is warranted, defensive and on edge. And he has full HP, so-- he soldiers on until he's just at the base of the tree peering into the stones.
He takes a moment there, considering the intact gems and the soft memories inside . . . but then he moves on to peer into one of the cracked ones. ]
[ he'll see her failing to save him in the house. running off when she couldn't control her idiot monster self. pretty much any time she's thought she's fucked up... AND THERE ARE A GOOD NUMBER OF THEM, even if perhaps some don't warrant it. ]
[ the gem seems to glow more brilliantly, and if it's a cracked gem, it gets fixed. he'll also be able to feel the tree... beating..? or is that a heart. very peculiar. ]
[ That would be gladdening if he didn't absolutely hate the concept of trees and hearts together.
He even snatches his hand back on instinct before taking a deep, steeling breath . . . and then placing his hands on the other broken gems, one at a time. ]
[ so he can absolutely heal all the gems, which seems to have a negative effect on the tree. he'll probably be happy about that. the more gems he heals the faster the beating gets, which starts to break the wretched thing apart. ]
[ ...aw, king, that's so sweet ♥ and seems to stir the place to start giving life that isn't so terrible. normal flowers begin to bloom, replacing all of the strange and twisted ones. ]
