Requiem's Ideal World run #1

Oh. You have a text-- wonder what that's about?
...
...
?
Hey, there's some junk in here that's not in the right spots. Take a good look around and fix that jazz. Everything's got a place or whatever.
No sense in hiding from yourself, right?
... what is this, a text for ants?
Re: the dark city
Oh.
And it's like all her strength leaves her; her knees go weak and she crumples to the ground, flesh and clothes and hair still burning, fluids fizzling, skin crackling crisp and dark.
It hurts, and she cries out at the feeling--maybe just cries.
It is still not enough to drown out the screams of the others. Those ring in her ears just as clearly as when it happened.
(She will need a minute. Maybe two.)
Re: the dark city
You have all the time in the world. After all, you're... completely fine. What's a little pain in the face of eternity?
There's a sense-- not yours, more like an echo of something else-- that... you should have been able to be better. You couldn't protect anyone like that.
You have to keep trying.
Re: the dark city
...Either way, no time to waste on that now. Nemesis forces her breathing back towards steady; wipes violently at her face. Pushes back to her feet. There's much more important things to worry about here--so much better people to worry about.
She heads back out to the alleyway. Ashley had said there was something Req might want down here, right?
Re: the dark city
... you feel a little comforted by it, actually. People smile kindly at you as they pass by, one or two people pause to ask if you're okay, if you need help, could they call someone? You're looking a little pale...
If you look around a bit you might find a nice little flower shop manned by a demon with reptilian-looking scales and fluffy wing ears. The only thing it seems to have is red roses, though.
Re: the dark city
And--huh. She'll look around--is there just one sad bouquet? Or just various options that all happen to be roses that are red?
Re: the dark city
but when you look directly at them, it's just red roses.
Re: the dark city
--Well.
She swallows thickly, but looks for a nice rosebud. Not that there's much else she can see, but she's looking for something that feels right.
"...Uh. You got a nice ribbon or anything...?"
Re: the dark city
But they pause, looking at it-- then at you-- and reach into another bunch of flowers; the one they retrieve is not a rose to your eyes, but a yellow tulip, and they tie it together with the rosebud(which, frankly, looks vaguely wilty. but hey).
They hand it back though, smiling. "There you go. On the house."

Re: the dark city
Have a good night!"
Re: the dark city
"Hey... There anyplace with good takeout over here?"
Re: the dark city
Re: the dark city
She finally heads out, holding onto the flowers. Maybe she'll have better luck with dinner... She takes another look at the rose and tulip, though, as she walks.
Re: the dark city
Honestly, it feels kind of like they were given TO you and less like you were buying them for someone else...
You find a few little take out places quickly enough.
Re: the dark city
She hopes there will be minimal emotional terrorism as she grabs some munchies but judging from historical data, the odds are against it...

You could head towards the park, where the concert's being held, or you could leave the city.
