I dunno, they mixed in cheating with nearly ending the world and killing hundreds of people. That's not exactly par.

Well I can assure you almost all the descriptions have been... mangled.

I just don't feel especially bad about killing people who were trying to kill me first.

Indeed? Well I do think we were all meant to judge each other more harshly and induce the feelings of wrongness for those that lack them. But I like this better. Righteousness has little place in hell.

Honestly, if this game did anything, it's that having everyone's so-called 'sins' plastered up like this really makes it feel like we're all on an even playing field when it comes to the shit we've done.

Perhaps. It does paint self-righteousness in a ludicrous light.

Yeah.

When everyone's sinful, no one's that sinful.

Or perhaps, when everyone has a story it is better to listen than to judge.

You just want the dirt on everyone.

Honestly, I don't know what it's like to be... so old you might as well be a god?

I think you care about a lot of things - interesting ideas and beautiful concepts and stuff - and you wanna see the people you love make it work out. You've seen enough that you understand how complicated people can be, and maybe you like complicated people? But you've sacrificed your principles before... 'cause there's some big goal you have.

And you like to bully my dad, but he bullies you back more.

My, is that how he phrases it? I do think I still have the upper hand with him.

But you do make me sound rather... Lofty. I am old, but I am just a person. Questions of power aside, I really do not see myself as anything greater than any other person. Simply more experienced. And likely a great deal more tired.

When you're that old though, you gotta find enjoyment and passion in things, don't you? Otherwise everything gets dull and then-- what's the point? In anything.

Besides, granddads are lofty.

Well, perhaps a little lofty then. By dint of age if naught else.

But I do have passions. Something I strive for. And those I care about. And as you noted I do love the world and all the marvels within it.

Eternity'd suck if you don't get your kicks somewhere. Maybe interesting people make it less boring, I dunno.

Friends make it bearable.

What do you think you would do with eternity? It is hardly boring, though people seem to think it would be, if you have even a little imagination and are not alone.

Maybe if those friends were immortal too. Otherwise I think I'd just miss all the people I outlived.

It's already weird, thinking 'bout how dad's probably gonna outlive me.

Ah yes. The friends should not die too readily that is a must.

But does it bother you, that he may live a long time? I imagine if the thought has occurred to him he hates it.

I don't think he'd take to me dying very well. And I don't want him t'be upset, but... at least he'd have you?

He says I might have a demon form, but even if I manage to have enough demonic energy to keep it up, I'm still gonna live like a human. No matter how much I slow it down, he's gonna last longer.

I wonder-- when I die, would he have no reason t'have anything to do with the human world anymore? Even if Dante's around?

Does it trouble you if that were the case?

Sparda had a big legacy - obviously dad would wanna live up to that. But if his mom had her legacy forgotten, when she was in his life more and took care of him on her own, I'd feel... kinda sad about that.

Plus, I think Dante would miss having someone around to stab.
