The Capital
For one reason or another, you - yes, you - were caught to be taken to the Capital. Whether it is due to going to ultrajail or whether it is due to being a Plague Bearer, here you are.

Hiryuu is pacing the prison room, thinkinnnggggg.
Both of these choices are BAD. Death especially but--military means being drafted back in to maybe die somewhere. Canon fodder. (not that she knows what a canon is.) But... maybe, if you joined the military.... there would be more Plague Bearers, and maybe other political prisoners like you, since they evidently fought beside them before.
Could we raise an insurrection from within the ranks? Or should they try to see if they can't bribe a guard to get them out?
....
OKAY. first things first. WHAT'S THE SITUATION FOR GUARDS LIKE, DO THEY HAVE ANY. ]

Hello? Is there someone there?

He's been pacing the perimeter of the cell as well, trying to put together a puzzle they only have a few corner pieces for. ]
This level of technology seems strange compared to what we've seen here already...

What do you make of the option we've been left with?
[ death doesn't count. we're not dying here. ]

Far from ideal. We'll be at their mercy for an unknown length of time, and there's no telling what that will entail.
[ He doesn't sound frightened by the prospect, simply - grim. ]
However... it will also give us unprecedented access to the other victims.

It might also give us an opportunity to see what, or whom, the nobles have been using their so-called "Plague Bearers" to fight against.
[ possible allies? hard to say yet ]
At any rate, we have more chances out there than in here.
[ of... escape, allies, mutiny--whatever ends up being the best route. ]
What do you think the odds we're under surveillance right now?
[ CAN THEY ACTUALLY HEAR US, ARE THERE CAMERAS. lookin... around... ]

But considering they've cuffed, trapped, and de-powered us, it's possible they're too arrogant to think it's worth their time. After all, they don't see people "like us" as people at all.
[ But they should probably... err on the side of caution, regardless. ]

Then we take what's been offered to us.
[ And find a way to make use of the rope they mean to hang us with. ]

[ And best of luck to these dumb tyrannical sons of bitches. ]

We'd like to join--or rejoin--the military.

"Wise choice. Through servitude, may your hands become clean."
The door opens, but there is none in the stark-white hallway.
Will you go through?

Soon enough, you reach a juncture. You could go left, right, or straight.

Which way do you want us to go?

"Turn right."

This is probably a test to see if we can be trusted to follow instructions.
[ like we're still in this big ass building. we haven't actually been reinlisted into the army yet.... so... ]
It might be disobey instructions.
[ YET. ]

Dropping his voice. ]
It's the first of many commands we're going to have to swallow for this to work.
no subject
My thoughts as well. We're going to need to hide in plain view--which will mean acting the part. If it seems like we need to turn around, we can, but for now--let's follow the instructions.
[ gonna go RIGHT like instructed. ]
no subject
There's a juncture again. Straight or left. Actually, doesn't the straight path look familiar to you somehow . . . ?

PUSHES THE BUTTON ]
Are there any clearer instructions you'd like to provide?
[ Or shall they just do w/e the hell they want. ]
