[No answer; he's frozen to the spot]

[Waving a hand in front of his face??]

Hey, Hurricane? Can you hear me?

[His eyes track the hand, but he doesn't move, aside from that]

[He looks near tears]

Hurricane... Something is wrong with this place. Can we go back a bit?

[No response to that, either, except for a small whimper]

[Back is the abyss; that's where he belongs]

[No just the first gate!! NO ABYSS!!!!]

Can you take my hand?

[His hand twitches, but that's all he can manage]

Hurricane? [She stops joking around and puts a hand on his shoulder.]

Are you alright?

[He is decidedly not alright]

[He doesn't belong here - isn't good enough to be here]

[He knows it anyway, but it's not usually this bone-deep knowledge that radiates out from where heis heart should be]

Hnnnn.

[She tries to. Lightly guide him away from the gate. Let's just. Let's just take a minute here.]

Hurricane. [She speaks very softly and rubs his back lightly.]

Can you please look at me?

[He can't seem to move under his own power, and it's very difficult to move him. His eyes seem to be the only things that are responding properly; they track to her face, near tears]

[Much as she'd like to just hurk him up and carry him, she's having some trouble doing that.]

[Instead, she just. Wraps an arm around his head and hugs him to her while she continues trying to moving him.]

[That seems to be difficult, as well - but thankfully, it seems like some trees have broken the sigils, and all at once he lurches back into motion, chest heaving]

[She catches him, as if afraid he's going to collapse right there.]

Hurricane! [She pats him on the back.]

Just. Just breathe, alright?

Y-yeah. Yeah, I - I'm fine.

[Ya don't look fine!!!]

Huff. [She keeps rubbing his back.] I should've taken what you said about the traps more seriously. I'm sorry.

[So much for having her back, though. One more thing in the long, long list of things he's done wrong]
