Rooted to the stone floor below, you feel your physical alterations keenly in your own awareness, flaring up. With the burn and cleanse of alcohol, stinging on a wound, but the wound doesn't vanish nor heal, the burn only intensifies.

And all through your head, your thoughts turn on you with precise mental scrutiny: what sins are being reflected? Judgement has been passed upon them, and now you will bear their marks. [Heat flares from the pads of her fingers to the tips of her toes, like her entire body is wreathed in flames--like white hot electricity. It's too intense even to cry out, though tears stream down her face, jaw gritted in a rictus of pain.

And this time at least she knows what she's done--knows why she deserves this, knows she was unworthy and should have known better and how could she do this again to someone she cares about most and why can't she ever, ever think before just ruining things.

It's difficult not to attempt to back away from the gate--to fall back to Lilith and stay this time--to finally free the others from having to deal with her many, many sins. Even though she wants to know if they're safe--she needs to keep him safe--but for that, too, she is unworthy--]

[ With lack of fanfare (apart from, you know, the plants), those affected can move again. The intensity of the burn and scrutiny fades and once more you can think without feeling the weight of your sins on your shoulders like Sisyphus beneath the boulder.

But even with it gone, the experience has keyed you into the sense that you should not be here for all that it is no longer actively trying to cast you out.
