[ He's frozen completely to the spot as sudden pain winds through his body.

He's not supposed to be here. He's not supposed to be here. He needs to be anywhere but here. He should leave, he should toss himself into the abyss, he-- ]

[Northstar's about to head in when she sees him just stop. She pauses and. Lightly reaches a hand out to touch his shoulder.]

[ His entire body begins to tremble and tears begin to fall silent down his eyes. Everything hurts, but he can't scream-- the knowledge of being unworthy is so much worse than any physical pain. ]

I... I can't be here. I shouldn't be here.

[ What kind of dragon is he? He's failed to protect his master, he's always done such a terrible job of things, and he's become corrupted. He's not worthy of this place. He should just throw himself into the abyss. Maybe then someone more worthy will be born and able to protect her.

Taking a shaky step toward toward the abyss.

I assure you that you're perfectly worthy, but if you must go back down despite that, I must insist you don't take the quick way!

[ A frantic shake of his head. She doesn't understand. She doesn't know his failures, how this place has already judged him and his presence will only bring everything down. ]

I-

[ But then LiliS does a thing and the spell that froze him and whispered to him fades. He remains frozen a moment, however, lifting a hand to his face. ]

[Still holding on while LiliS was doing the thing. She looks around, then looks back at him.]

If you promise you're not going to dive over the edge, I'll let go.

Yeah. Yeah, I don't-- I don't want to step over the edge. I promise I am calm now.

Whatever that was, has faded.

[ Just not the powerful feelings of rejection. ]
