THE GATES | THE COURTYARD | THE FOUNTAINS | THE GARDENS

Re: THE GARDENS
Re: THE GARDENS
Considering the flowers seems to confirm (at least in your immediate vicinity) that no two are the same. You lean in further, towards the nearest one to you.
It's... a delicately pink flower, five petals around a golden crown of pollen, all upon a thorned stem. It's an eglantine—a wild rose.
And this flower is the part of reality that is the experience of being something different from those around you.
How do you know that? Unclear. You just do; the knowledge feels as natural as breathing.
Do you pluck it? ]
Re: THE GARDENS
Because he will pluck that one. That's not an experience he cares if he accidentally breaks or something.]
Re: THE GARDENS
You pass being held in thrall, and rage, and romantic, and something changed forever, and loss without possibility of return, and scars, and atonement.
But you haven't yet found specifically guilt. ]
(( To keep searching, roll 1d20 again. Only a 20 will get you to very specifically guilt. ))
Re: THE GARDENS
He may give up on guilt. But what else did he find?]
Re: THE GARDENS
(Here, you are the only one to whom such questions can be posed.)
You pass silk, and the media of Charlton Heston (whoever that is), and stargazing, and broken glass, and destiny in the balance, and secrets that hurt to keep.
Each of them as powerfully real as the last. ]
Re: THE GARDENS
Plucking the flower that represents it though maybe he'll not even notice the effects.
However if it starts to feel wrong he'll stop. He likes himself too much to cause himself pain.]
Re: THE GARDENS
It's a feeling deep within you that seems to say, ah, you should be kind to yourself.
Continue? Y/N ]
Re: THE GARDENS
.....
...
No. Let's not. Let's not fuck with the flowers, this already seemed dubious as decisions go. He likes himself.
He'll pat the petals and leave it, heading for the gates since that tree just seems... too tempting.]
Re: THE GARDENS
The gate itself is already open; it's shining and pure white, almost like flame, but it doesn't burn. You could pass through it easily, if you want. ]
Re: THE GARDENS
He takes his silk handkercief and hangs it on the gate, as a farewell of sorts, then leaves.]
Re: THE GARDENS
As you pass through, it's as though a heaviness lifts from your chest—some terrible weight that you hadn't realized you'd been carrying. It had felt like terrible anguish, but now you can hardly remember it—it's as though it was a dream.
You find yourself in front of a fountain, with no way to cross back to where you were before. ]
