I will not take faith in simply your words that they are cursed. Our goals are in alignment. Salvation. The world to not fall into ruin. No star should suffer a fate.

But you can't even see that you are a pale imitation. That your form does fade and blur at the edges. How can I know that you are correct that the destruction of such shards would save the world? Perhaps it would bring it further to ruin.

Of course not. I have built empires on such lies. What you call a curse might be life for another. Your station does not mean you are righteous or right.

So I seek to understand. But I cannot with you being unable to tell me whose place this is, and so I seek to learn for myself.

What harm is there in opening the gate early?

It is not so much harm, as it is - I wonder if someone who has already received the reward can be trusted to follow through on his end of the bargain.
