[ That's a word for it. She again dips her head politely to the attendant as she returns. ]
I've procured some tinctures that may help with the growth, but I'd like to test them out on some smaller parts of the plant before applying any to the whole.
My thanks. Let's see how this works—I'm not certain of the nature of this plant's ailment.
[ She'll do exactly that, though she probably has to wrap her fingers in her sleeves to avoid the thorns, and perhaps use the edge of the butter knife for a bit of extra leverage.
To one twig, she'll a proportionately small amount of Cleaner; to the other, the same with Poison. ]
[She'll use up about half the poison as she does so, although -
Despite her care, the plant quite abruptly shrivels up in its entirety, twisting upon itself until it turns into mere soil instead.
The stage has been freed - and with it comes a vision:
You’re playing basketball.
It’s a tough game, but you’re winning - your teammates, a ragtag group as they are compared to your clearly skilled opponents, keep managing to get the ball to you to score. It’s exhilarating, the cheers of the audience, the praise of your teammates. You’re the center of attention because of your abilities and it feels great. You can’t remember a recent time that felt any happier - like a ray of sunshine after so many grey and stormy days.
...Or at least, that's the scene you believe yourself to be in for a brief moment. Once you return to the present, you find yourself still standing on the stage. And, should you check, your badge is glowing faintly as one of the fragments goes from clear to silver.
[ that is a bit weird, yeah! but she just smiles. ]
There was some... clutter, around the edge of the stage. But it's taken care of, now.
[ She'll stay to talk, if he has questions. Otherwise, she'll head back to the main room, towards the hallway—but take the one preserved twig of gorse with her. ]

The gorse plant is still, uh. Thriving.]

May I break off two twigs?

Oddly, one of the fragments on her badge seems to light up just briefly once they die, but it returns to clear.]

[ then, speaking up— ]
Sir, if you don't mind my making the plant die back, I think I can stop it overtaking the stage.
Re: > RETURN
[He is totally not paying attention whatsoever to what she's up to.]
Re: > RETURN
But very well, if it's clearly not that important to him...
She'll begin applying the Poison to the plant—just a bit at a time, starting with the parts that are creeping over the stage. ]

You've found another Fragment.]
Re: > RETURN
But the clarity of the memory is a relief: proof that the thorny plant truly was holding something back. ]
That should help, I think.
[ Does the attendant seem to notice? Does he have any comments? ]
Re: > RETURN
Huh? Help with what?
