He can step into the light, but it offers nothing for him, unfortunately.

[ Alas. With that ruled out, he's going to inspect the statue next. ]

Upon inspection, there are cracks on the statue. One on his inner wrist that glows blue, one above his right elbow that glows red, and one splitting his sternum that seems to swirl with multiple colours underneath.

There is a plaque at the bottom of the statue. The inscription reads:

[ Forget the inscription, he's reaching up to touch the swirl on the statue's sternum right away ]

The cracks don't seem to feel any different from normal marble - cool to the touch, smooth and hard - but the glow seems to stir a medley of emotions in your heart. They all blur together: warmth, coolness, passion, deliberation... tingling at the surface of your thoughts.

As soon as you pull your hand away from the glow, however, it all fades.

Hm...

[ Tries tapping "start" on the inscription ]

As you touch the plaque, the statue dissolves into orbs of red and blue energy - all quickly absorbed into your new weapon, breathing life and power into it. Where the base once was, now is a pillar of light, spilling out from a portal at the center of the circular array.

Ah, now it's going to get exciting.

[ Hops right into the portal! ]

You step into the light - it instantly whisks you away, to the next level in the tower.

Whooosh

Griffin--? Oh yes. That is what he is called isn't it. I am fond of him.

No, he's dating my brother. We manage to get along though.

[ And with no sword appearing... ]

Anyway, it seems it's only one apiece.

Ah, I'm curious about the others but we will perhaps never know.

Who is your brother? I am afraid I am not abreast of Nero's romantic entanglements beyond his wife.

[ Frowns sharply at the mention of a wife ]

Jason, on FiN. As far as I'm aware that is the extent of Griffin's "entanglements".

[Curious reaction.]

I hardly know Shrike. I don't have any bias against her, just Griffin's poor choices.

...Poor choices in what way? I'm afraid I am very disconnected from his romantic life.

Tell me, if you are dating two people, is it appropriate to marry only one of them if the other is obviously uncomfortable with the decision?

I told Griffin and Jason that it was a thoughtless and unfair plan, and Jason agreed anyway because he cares more about Griffin getting what he wants than himself. And Griffin believes that's acceptable because he's an idiot.

Is Jason still hurt over it? Have they even discussed it?

[ Shrugs ]

He won't discuss it anymore. He'd be angry that I'm even talking about it now.
