Vergil's heart game r5
You feel weak, your body won't move no matter how you try, and you are falling, away from everything you know and love. Away from everything you need to accomplish. If you could just reach out, maybe you could hold on to it, claw your way back. But it's a useless endeavour, you fall unconscious, and your mind goes blank except for poetry and a familiar voice.
O mother Enitharmon, wilt thou bring forth other sons?
To cause my name to vanish, that my place may not be found,
For I am faint with travail,
Like the dark cloud disburden'd in the day of dismal thunder.
My roots are brandish'd in the heavens, my fruits in earth beneath
Surge, foam and labour into life, first born and first consum'd!
Consumed and consuming!
Then why shouldst thou, accursed mother, bring me into life?
You wake on the ground in a cave, cold, wet, and sticky. It smells of rotting flesh. Your objective is clear, but you can't recall a name or face. Nothing else about your memory of him is changed, but for some reason the name "Vergil" just won't come to you, and you couldn't describe how he looks if your life depended on it. But at least your body starts to respond to your will, slowly regaining enough strength to carry on.

Re: PETRIFIED FIELD
But suddenly suits of armour drop out of a portal. There's 7 of them all together, they're about 9 feet tall. And now they have their sights on you and move in.

C-C-C-COMBO BREAKER!!!
Vivi, you need to run! I'll catch up with you, but get out of here! Now!
Re: C-C-C-COMBO BREAKER!!!
At least someone else appearing splits their attention. The leader calls the soldiers to it, and turns to Lily.
Levity could manage to escape as long as he does it quickly and Lily keeps their attention. But she doesn't have any Perseverance left, so...well the best she can do is hold them off long enough.

She just hopes Vivi doesn't pay for her mistakes.

Lily?!
[He moves to follow her first, but, well! He doesn't have a weapon, and even if he did he doesn't know how to fight, either. He would likely just be a hindrance here, but it feels wrong to just leave Lily alone--
--but is it more wrong than staying, ruining her concentration in the fight, possibly dying, right in front of her? Levity clenches his fists desperately, but--yes, he has to trust she'll be fine, he knows she's a good fighter, and he should just go already--
Levity forces himself to drop back to the entrance to the caves, heart racing and a pit of anxiety in his stomach, turns towards Lily one last time. A little late, it occurs to him that he doesn't know where they could meet up: the caves are nearly a labyrinth.]
I-I'll meet you at the heart!
[...listen, just because he hasn't seen anyone else there doesn't mean that no one ever goes there. He didn't know Lily was here until this damn moment, after all.
With that, Levity does a sensible thing for once in his life, or afterlife as it were, turns and flees back into the caves - to the heart room, if he can make it after all.]

But as for Lily, you can try to fight, but you're just not strong enough. You're so, pathetically weak. The leader cuts you down, cutting right through your shoulder and down to your hip. At least you could save someone you care about. Even though you couldn't save yourself, you did something for Levity, and what greater gift could you give him than trading your life for his? Even though it hurts, and you feel so weak for dying like this, you feel happy, too. It makes you feel like you're worthwhile.
You wake up in the cave again, cradled in the spindly, steel arms of half a dozen hooded, faceless, wraith-like creatures. Or so they appear. There's no life in them, no more than a statue holding you upon its lap not unlike the Pietà .
It sloughs away into nothing the moment you stand.

"WANT SOME? COME GET SOME!"
Even as she knows death is imminent she doesn't give up and won't until the last, trying to take down as many as she can before it's over for her.
She's scared. She doesn't want to die.
The voice in her mind that tell her she's weak--she knows it bt she rails against it anyway. Like Hell (absolutely intended) is she going to beg or cry or take any of this lying down. If they want to kill her they're going to have to EARN IT!
She's slashed and her blood sprays in a beauteous arc. Would you look...at th...
She dies with a savage, defiant smile on her face.
