While I know him to be upset about things, it has not changed his feelings toward you and other people he considers close to him. He was only upset out of concern and a feeling of helplessness. It should be no matter.

The Dragon’s Claw can remain a relatively normal human’s size. However, at will you can expand it so that it’s large enough to wrap around a car if desired, and is infinitely strong outside of battle, and fierce within.

That is right. With this, you will be able to stand strong in the world and will have the power to fight in the upcoming battle.
My suggestion to you is to consider the types of things he cherishes, even despite the current deterioration of his heart. Right now, the corruption inside this place is desperately seeking his true heart. If it finds him, it will be that much more difficult to destroy when it attacks. The best result would be that you find him before it does. And for you to fix or make positive changes and decisions while searching along the way.
This is still his heart though-- you should take care while inside it. No matter where you are, once the corruption breaks through our barriers it will attack you and your companions who have found themselves here. It would probably be best to fight it in a location that will not destroy things of importance to him.
Find his true heart before the corruption does. Help what I can within his heart while I'm looking. If I must fend off the corruption while I search, try to draw it away from what he holds dear.
