Wednesday's Heart Game » Session One
At first, there is nothing.
And then there’s a voice, saying:
… look, I don’t have time to explain. Hold this.
And something, ready or not, is thrust into your hand. Maybe it’s a pen, or a brooch, or a watch or a phone, or anything at all so long as it’s small enough to hold, and looks too important to lose.
Maybe you try to object, but a small, winged creature wreathed in iridescent sparkles darts into your view, and clasps your hands, and curls your fingers tight about the object in them.
You’re just, the creature says, going to have to trust me. Now: raise your hand, and say:
Maybe you know these tropes, or maybe you don’t.
Maybe you’re about to protest that no, you couldn’t possibly, this is ridiculous and you’ve got the wrong person—
And then?
Then? It’s not dark any more.
And an awful lot seems to be happening at once.
And then there’s a voice, saying:
I need your help.
Power of a Dreaming Star – Metamorphose!!
Maybe you know these tropes, or maybe you don’t.
Maybe you’re about to protest that no, you couldn’t possibly, this is ridiculous and you’ve got the wrong person—
But you can’t resist the call. Nobody ever can.
And then?
Then? It’s not dark any more.
And an awful lot seems to be happening at once.

Re: ♡ a ruined manor
[The statues are showing up as objects of interest... and there's a really, really big read coming from the top of the stairs.]
Re: ♡ a ruined manor
Re: ♡ a ruined manor
Re: ♡ a ruined manor
That that it's going to stop her anyway. So... after a deep breath to steel herself... she's going to go upstairs towards the big read she was getting up here.]
Re: ♡ a ruined manor
[She takes her time. Of course she does. She is quite certain that you will wait – and wait you do. Perhaps there is a compulsion on you as you watch her process down the staircase toward you, this tall, stately figure in the black gown and hooded cloak. Her face is lost in shadow; a ring of heavy keys clink and jingle at her waist. Perhaps the most arresting thing about her, though, is the sword. Long as it is, she carries it quite easily, and though the hilt is elegant and heavy with jewels, the oiled steel of the blade is clearly entirely functional.]
Re: ♡ a ruined manor
Doing this alone could be bad. She's not yet familiar with these powers. So... as quick as she can, she grabs her phone and sends out a text to the first person she sees-- Cobalt. Perfect.
`enemy in the mansion in the dark forest-- I could use backup`
AND NOW. Hope and pray. And prepare for a fight. ]
Re: ♡ a ruined manor
[And then like five seconds later he KICKS IN THE DOOR]
WHAT'S GOING ON?!
Re: ♡ a ruined manor

Re: ♡ a ruined manor
.....Who's this?
BOSS ACTION
[She gazes haughtily down at you from her position on the steps: that's nobility for you, even their clothes can look haughty. Maximum haught without showing so much as a hint of their face.]
What are you doing here? This is my place.
[And then, as if it's only the obvious way to follow that up:]
Aeon Midnight Decree!
[And a cloud of gray mist arises from the floor, and a pack of spectral wolves come dashing down the stairs toward you both, teeth bared.]
Re: BOSS ACTION
[6+2+2 to matrix dodge some spectral wolves?! He dodges at least one of them REALLY well, anyway.]
Who the heck are you!?
LUMINOUS PRAYER!
[6+5+3*]
[*Modified]
[Shafts of light erupt from the ground! IT'S BEAUTIFUL]
Re: BOSS ACTION
Right. Together--!
[ Time to pull out some "magic" of her own. Once she's steady on her feet again-- ]
Sparkling Star Aura!
[ ( 3* + 6 + 6 ) *modified for attack name ]
BOSS REACTION
[The hooded creature screams as the attacks strike home - pierced by the beams of light, she is held transfixed for a moment as Serenity bombards her with stars.
[She's breathing hard as the light fades, but she looks as haughty as ever.]
BOSS ACTION
[She lunges forward with her sword, slashing out at Cobalt and Serenity. Does a magical sword cut like a real one?]
Re: BOSS ACTION
What are you doing in Wednesday's heart?!
[Wow this literally turned into a battle between light and darkness, huh? He raises both palms over his head like Tienshinhan doing Solar Flare in Dragonball Z]
HEAVENLY FLASH SALVATION!
[6*+6+5]
Re: BOSS ACTION
Time to fight back-- ]
Gleaming Blessing Conjuration!
[ 2* + 6 + 6 ]
BOSS REACTION
[She staggers again and again as the light hits her, and it doesn't matter that it's soft and shining because she feels the blows like she stepped in front of a very angry train. She's decidedly less upright-looking this time, fingers curling tight about the hilt of her sword as she fights to remain on her feet.]
BOSS ACTION
[She draws herself upright again, stretching out an imperious arm in a grand sweep.]
Chronos Bane--!!
[She misses Cobalt this time, but Serenity is not quite so fortunate. An ornate hourglass materializes around Serenity, trapping her in the lower globe. It doesn't hurt, it's just annoying... but she will find herself growing gradually weaker the longer she is trapped inside.
[You might be able to break the glass with an attack.]
no subject
[Shit! His first instinct is to break the hourglass and free Serenity, but maybe defeating Sword Lady will do the same thing.]
Let me see your face!!
HEAVENLY FLASH SALVATION TIMES TWO!!
[5*+6+2]
Re: BOSS ACTION
Sparkling Star Aura!
[ (5* + 4 + 6) ]
BOSS REACTION
[She drops the sword.
[Those are the first signs. The second is that she catches fire.
[It all burns, and too quickly at that: the woman, the mansion, the flowers. The fire creeps up the stairway, it licks at the walls, at the statues on their plinths, but you cannot feel its heat, and it does not touch you. It burns with a clear white flame, and the smoke smells sweet and heady as incense. She stands, and she burns, and though her body twists in the flames, and shrivels, and blackens, and turns to ash, she doesn’t make a sound.
[And there’s light on your face, all of a sudden; if you tilt your head back, you can see it as the sky splits in two, bathing the ruined grounds in brilliant day.]
[
rip you absolutely trashed her. you are beasts]Re: BOSS REACTION
Oh wow.
Serenity, are you okay?
Re: BOSS REACTION
[She's stunned for a few seconds.]
We did it!!
