[ The dragon lashes its tail in pain as Izanagi lands a powerful blow, at near the same time Talon once more catches it hard upon the face. It whimpers, growling angrily in pain and frustration as the attacks leave it scrambling back a step and cause it to change tactics.

This time, the dragon doesn't even bother with individual attacks, it crouches low, opening its mouth, and-- it isn't quite fire, no. Instead, a dark mist oozes past its lips, creeping along the ground like smoke, before it breathes in and then shoots a wave of painful, burning miasma over Izanagi, Susanoo, and Talon. The dark mist leaves no marks but the pain might as well feel like that of a chemical burn.]

[HE DOES NOT LIKE THIS AND HE IS NOT QUICK ENOUGH--3 damage.]

[ Talon stumbles for a moment, coughing heavily in the miasma

[He gets a 3 8 22 to dodge out of the way!]

[And he rolls a 22 to attack, rushing in to kick it in the throat for 4 damage.]

[apparently, despite all the damage, he manages to get up the energy for an attack from the air with some sharps--15--and doing some damage back! 4.]

[ He can't let up now! Even with the miasma stinging his eyes and burning his throat, he forces himself to straighten up and rush forward through the mist and swinging his blade up at the dragon's—neck? It's chest? He can't see clearly, but thankfully the dragon makes for a hard to miss target.

[ Perhaps you will feel lucky because you're about to get a reprieve? Or... perhaps not. Because rather than a physical attack this time, it's an attack on your sanity.

Double attacks to its throat and an additional one from Susanoo cause the massive creature to stumble, and bellow in pain, thrashing around wildly, as though trying to force them back. Its black gaze turns back to the party below and opening its mouth, a terrible sound escapes. And it rattles you to the core.

There is darkness. And there is void. An emptiness that threatens to swallow you whole and return you to nothingness, and you realize your insignificance... ]

[That's a twelve, so, uh... yikes. Squirrelfren did her best, probably.]

[ She will continue to cheer him on and comfort as much as possible, but...

[ Talon actually dispels his weapon so he can cover his eyes, gritting his teeth against the assault. It twists his stomach in knots and sends a stark chill down his spine, sucking the wind out of him all at once—for a few terrifying moments, at least.

Sanity: 17 ]

[He's still feeling shaky after that attack, which may be a contributing factor to the near miss - but with a 15 he still manages to get a kick in for 6 damage, aimed at the throat again.]

[ As soon as he's caught his breath, he summons his weapon once more and darts forward, thrusting his blade as deeply into the dragon's chest as he can manage and twisting it when he draws back this time, desperate to end this fight quickly.

[sometimes your coping mechanism with losing a bit of sanity is that you just GO FOR THE THROAT (25) and end up dealing 4 damage.]

[ The assaults upon its throat and chest continue with increasing damage. Maybe that is why it opted to try to confound rather than outright attack, last, but it hasn't seemed to slow them down at all.

Not enough, anyway.

But as their attacks ramp up, the more desperate the dragon seems too. It reels back, putting some attempted distance between itself and them. Lifting its claw up it brings it down hard upon the ground, tearing the earth and rocks up from beneath Talon's feet in a spray of rubble, sending him flying. As for Izanagi, three, razer sharp vines shoot up from the ground, aimed directly for him with the intent to skewer. ]

[ Talon tries to make a safe landing after being launched, but he botches it and goes skidding across the ground for 1 damage

[There's a choked sound as the vines cut into his flesh, sliding up his sides - only thankfully not piercing his feet, because he needs at least one of them to strike and the other to balance.]

[ He hauls himself to his feet again, swinging the guandao in an arc at the dragon that comes up short of actually hitting it.

[apparently the hit in the sanity was what he needed to get back into a mafia mode because he's just going right back to attacking (22) and sometimes that means throwing knives and then kicking them deeper into a monster's flesh with a dragon's foot (5 damage)

it also helps that he doesn't have to do shit to avoid damage this time.]
