[ In the cruellest twist of fate in the world, thereās no actual bar there! In fact, itās actually something a bit more picturesque. A wide open field of flowers spreads itself before you. Itās not the overwhelmingness of the wild oats that had been creeping through the doors, too. Instead as far as the eye can see, Star of Bethlehem flowers are growing tall and healthy. If you look behind yourself, the door you used to get in has disappeared.
Thereās also a woman sitting on her knees in the field of flowers, hands clenched together as if in prayer. For anyone familiar with Glacies in Imeeji -- thereās an uncanny resemblance there!
When she hears you āenterā she turns, and smiles at you. ]
Come. Itās been some time since last we spoke, hasnāt it?
[ Aera tips his head, smile still on her face but it's curious, searching. She holds out her hand, patting the ground with her other hand to invite him to come closer. ]
You really don't recognize it? It's where everything changed.
[ she sighs -- there's a sad tone to it, and she's wrapping her arms around him, her face burying itself in his shoulder.
Abruptly, there'll be the feeling of a blade sliding into his chest. Not from his front, where she is, but as if someone's behind him, their hand putting pressure on his back while she holds him so he can't pull away. ]
[ Aera does look genuinely apologetic, keeping a tight hold on him even as he tries to pull away. There's a low laugh from behind him, but the voice wouldn't be familiar. ]
This is how it must be. This is fate -- our god's decree.
[ There's no stopping the bleeding -- especially as the man behind him wrenches the blade out. ]
[He's never died before. He's been warned that it can happen during games, but he never expected it. He thought he could handle it, that it would be fine because he wasn't really dead, not when someone from Pep could just revive him. He wasn't prepared for how it would actually feel.
The blade sunk into him like his skin, muscle, and bones were liquid. Blood welled up in his mouth and he has to remember how to breathe. He feels like he can't because his heart is beating so fast he can't keep up. He can feel the blood soaking his shirt, making it stick to his back.
Luna...
He can't even speak, a liquid-gurgling noise escaping as blood choked off his words. All he can do is stare at this girl while he dies.]
[ As you bleed out, the world around you becomes darker and darker, dissolving as if it were just a dream --
Unfortunately for Noctis, he finds himself just back at the start again. He'll remember everything that happened, and there'll be a scar on his chest from where the sword went in, but otherwise? It's like he never got stabbed in the first place. ]
and this time instead of holding him in place, there's an arm grabbing Noctis around the shoulders from behind, the sharp point of a sword going through his chest once more. ]
WILDERNESS BAR

Re: WILDERNESS BAR
I don't think we've met before.
Re: WILDERNESS BAR
Even for you that's a cruel jest, Somnus.
Re: WILDERNESS BAR
[Heās definitely apologetic about it though. He looks around, feeling awkward.]
Where is this place.
Re: WILDERNESS BAR
You really don't recognize it? It's where everything changed.
Re: WILDERNESS BAR
[He approaches at her invitation, curious but hesitant. Talking with her was a distraction from the weird hunger he felt when he woke up here.]
Maybe refresh my memory?
[Heāll play along for now.]
Re: WILDERNESS BAR
When I told you who was fated to be king. Who was chosen by the gods.
[ She doesn't seem to have an issue with reminding him, at least, even if it seems like she thinks he's someone else. ]
Re: WILDERNESS BAR
They chose me.
[He at least can guess after all. He wishes he could figure out this place and what it meant.]
Re: WILDERNESS BAR
No, Somnus. As much as you would have preferred that -- they chose him.
Your brother.
Re: WILDERNESS BAR
[That was more to himself than anything.]
And then what happened?
Re: WILDERNESS BAR

Re: WILDERNESS BAR
Wha- [He makes a choked noise as the blade slides into his chest.]

Re: WILDERNESS BAR
Hey.
[Thanks for stabbing him. He's going to stay several feet away from you now.]
Re: WILDERNESS BAR
Hello. I was waiting for you, you know.
Re: WILDERNESS BAR
Right. You kept calling me Somnus. Who is that?
[Still staying physically distant from her. Nope. Not getting stabbed again!!]
Re: WILDERNESS BAR
Did you forget your own name?
Re: WILDERNESS BAR
You said it was God's Decree before stabbing me. Is that what happened to Ardyn?
Re: WILDERNESS BAR
... You should know better than I.
Re: WILDERNESS BAR
This place is important to him. Why? You told me this is where everything changed. You mean when he became the way he is now?
[Well, he's probably prying and Grandpa is probably not going to like it but... he's here. He wants answers.]
Re: WILDERNESS BAR
Aera doesn't reply; she looks to the side, her face downcast. ]
... Will you sit with me?
Re: WILDERNESS BAR
[Crossing his arms.]
Tell me what happened here.
Re: WILDERNESS BAR
[ her voice is a whisper;
and this time instead of holding him in place, there's an arm grabbing Noctis around the shoulders from behind, the sharp point of a sword going through his chest once more. ]
