Good Cause Simulator: sensitIV (saturday)

[ You’re in a sleek room full of all kinds of sci-fi dials and knobs. You feel like you’ve been here a long time with these people around you, and that you have a lot longer to go before this is all over.

You can hear the distant sounds of the station creaking due to shockwaves from the fighting outside. What is going on in this galaxy? Well, it’s not very important to you. What’s important is surviving.

You have a job to do. ]

Any hot tips for getting through this alive, then?
backstory: (You sure about that?)

Don't eat rats. You'll get sick. It's important keeping your shelter taken care of too. Last time, we all died of alcohol poisoning, a disease of the lungs, getting shot, and then also being brought back to life only to be blown up.

. . . So there is a lot to worry over. I think being proactive in bettering our situation is the most important part of survival for this.

So if there's a food shortage, if we're trying to find an alternative food source, we should check it thoroughly before actually eating it.

Absolutely. I was incredibly ill last time, so you don't want to get in a situation where your health might deteriorate.

I believe... thinking outside of the box is better, too.

If we can avoid the war or try and be an intermediary, I think that would be to our best advantage, rather than going hard against others. But I know not every unit will feel the same way.

[Ah-]

So we don't have to play this game straight? We can come up with our own stuff?

That's right. We don't have to follow a script. We can go off course as much as we want. I believe there were other units that did just that and they faired better.

SensitIV, who followed more closely to it, was in some of the worst shape in the end. So I think if we make our own story we'll be in a better position.

Proactive, huh. What's your thoughts on the like, whole mining laser dilemma?

It depends on how willing we are to harm other units. I think, ultimately, it would probably benefit us. But at the cost of injuring others, which may then, in turn, cause others to take more desperate actions.

I usually dislike taking actions that might harm other units if they can be avoided since I have people I love on other units. Though that isn't always possible.

We'll just have to like, count on them to take care of themselves. We're not gods, we can't lay down castle walls to encircle everyone in a night. We just have to handle our own fortifications, for now.

I'm talking to like... what's his name, Luci-kun? Luci-chan? Her? Anyway, whoever that is. If we pay taxes the first year, we should probably gun for the extra prosperity unless we want to be in the red. And not paying sounds like bad news.

Just Lucifel is probably fine...

It is. Individuals will show up to collect if we aren't careful, eventually. At which point, our only option then would be to run from the law, and they won't hesitate to kill us.

Mm-hmm, so def let's pay. And use the prosperity ability, then put the points in readiness? You good with that, or?

I think this is as good of an idea as any.

It sounds like we're going to try and switch courses and work as sort of field medics in the end, so if we go this route, I have a lot more confidence in our strategy and situation.

Doctors in other worlds... earn a lot, I think? At the very least it should help keep us healthy and strong, too.

Doctors are always in high demand, yeah. There's no such thing as a totally peaceful world, so.

Let us take this route then. If it works out, we'll continue along this course. If not-- well, we'll deal with that as it comes.
