[ You all wake up in bed with your smartphone at your bedside, all of you in your sleepwear, with a message on your phone.

Good morning, newly departed guest stars! You've got new co-stars to meet, a new dorm to explore, and the television in the main room with the "names" of everyone in your unit with flashing empty boxes next to them, waiting for you to each assign yourself a personal color. Or assign them to each other, really, no one's stopping you.

Once you've chosen your color (or, once it's chosen for you), your closets will unlock with 3 sets of beach-ready clothes fitted exactly to your size.

Also, the front door is currently locked. It looks like you actually have no choice but to get to know each other for an hour or two before those open up. ]

It would certainly be an inconvenience to be landlocked otherwise. Manageable, certainly, but this is quite helpful.

[blinks and tips his head, a little surprised, but ambles over and lays down.]

Sure. Anything in particular you wanna know?

What other sort of coworkers do you have, I suppose. The merperson you know, what are they like? Those sorts of things.

I'll start with her then. She's a huuuge flirt, and really likes souvenirs and stuff. Such a hoarder. But she's reliable in her own way.

She's pretty close with our resident ghost, who plays pranks on us a lot. They're a kind of annoying duo, logically, but it's hard to be mad at someone who's been dead for so long? She means well and just wants to have fun.

A varied bunch. What sort of work do you do then?

Oh. No. There are like... 9 more of us. I just don't wanna talk your ear entirely off.

We are currently held hostage in this dorm. I have time.

[holds up both hands and starts counting off.]

Witch. Pretty much your granny who likes cooking. Our best meetings have her food.

Dragon. Vain as hell, but good and loyal.

Unicorn. He's thinks he's a fucking comedian, but he cares.

Cat... is just a goddamn hipster.

Vampire is out of touch and cranky about it but likes games.

Our alchemist is clever as hell but also bitter as hell.

The Hermit... is like a friendly gym teacher. He does yoga.

Marjoram is just like, unfathomably old and kind of shady, so I'm glad she's on our side.

And then there's Thyme, who is our good justice bird man. He gets super emotional but is super cranky about it. We go way back.

And what sort of work does a group like yours do?

World-saving.

I have to tell you, I have not been counting.

You do not track the numbers....

It wasn't my job. Until it was, but that was after most of the saving.
