Murder Mysterium - Day 4

Who: You!
Where: The Game Tower
When: TBD - Day 2

[ When morning comes, you find yourselves more than freed from your rooms—you're completely kicked out of the mansion. You may access the twin garden mazes, encouraged, even—there are alcoves in the gardens with flowers wrapping around the gates that are to your unit's color, and upon entering them you'll be able to speak to your unitmates without fear of being overheard, as though there were some sort of soundproofing barrier. You may only enter your unit-specific alcove. There are also plenty of other non-unit specific alcoves for you to enter and converse with someone, but it won't be entirely private—these pockets don't have soundproofing. Players should comment to relevant private threads that are being eavesdropped.

But before you run off to discuss, you'll want to gather around the fountain (mind the executed bodies). Its water's stopped, though rather than any stillness in water you can instead see . . . murder.

The details of each murder, as well as the rules, are available on your phones, and in fact, that and the photos app are the only things you can access on your phone right now. Your powers are off too, although you were allowed to bring whatever items are ordinarily on your person—provided they aren't any weapons. ]

Then are we certain we can trust everybody to keep to the plan? If we all have bombs, but - hypothetically speaking - one unit brings in a knife, for whatever reason, then by the revised rules they would then die.

I'm not certain what anyone would have to gain by such an act, but can we rule it out?

We cannot guarantee everybody will keep to the plan!

But like, if ya think about it, if ya come to a bomb party with a knife 'n get blown up, what's the best case scenario there for that team other than hangin' with all the other dead teams. Otherwise they'd be counting on everybody else ta vote one outta a bunch of us as the killer? Guess ya could, but we'd know who prolonged the game.

[She nods.]

There's really no advantage in it at all, then... so, I'm broadly in favor. There is one thing that still concerns me, however. What happens if one of the other units doesn't wish to take part? If we're throwing explosives into every other room in the house, is there not a very real risk they'll be killed?

Haha...

I should explain that I'm not motivated by anything good or noble here...

From my view, everybody in the game's made choices that could kill somebody. Pick up a weapon, someone can die on it. Pick the wrong room, somebody could get killed in it. Decide ta vote who ta execute, obviously we've seen the results. Don't pick who ta vote, that's guaranteeing a dead team doesn't get a win, so they're dead dead. With all of that in consideration, the risk of tryin' ta hide in a minefield is obvious.

I'm counting on the pressure of every other room exploding ta help this work. I guess if someone's got objections they can trust me with what room they're in so I can avoid telling anybody ta toss a bomb there, but like... if we get two or three rooms and six ta eight teams left, we'll just end up in a scenario where... teams who don't pick up a bomb will be sacrificing themselves, and the other option is a TKO...

So this is basically an all or nothing play.

Perhaps. But, all that aside, what I personally need to know before I can agree to any of this is that we have at least accounted for all the surviving units, and that by carrying out this experiment we won't be endangering anyone's lives unnecessarily. We can't do anything about the rules of the game, and we can't control how and when the producers choose to end it. How can we, when we can't even keep ourselves from killing if we have the misfortune to end up in the wrong place, holding the wrong item? But, if we must take risks outside of that, we can at least try to mitigate them.

So, are you close to a consensus? Or to an agreement, at least?
