Murder Mysterium - Day 5
Who: You!
Where: The Game Tower
When: TBD - Day 5
[ When morning comes, you find yourselves more than freed from your rooms—the mansion collapses behind the last person leaving, completely and utterly demolished. There might be a couple rooms left standing, but . . . you certainly can't have a murder mystery game like this.
The game isn't quite over yet, though.
You may access the twin garden mazes, encouraged, even—there are alcoves in the gardens with flowers wrapping around the gates that are to your unit's color, and upon entering them you'll be able to speak to your unitmates without fear of being overheard, as though there were some sort of soundproofing barrier. You may only enter your unit-specific alcove. There are also plenty of other non-unit specific alcoves for you to enter and converse with someone, but it won't be entirely private—these pockets don't have soundproofing. Players should comment to relevant private threads that are being eavesdropped.
But before you run off to discuss—
You'll want to gather around the fountain.
Its water's stopped, though rather than any stillness in water you can instead see . . .
The details of each murder, as well as the rules, are available on your phones, and in fact, that and the photos app are the only things you can access on your phone right now. Your powers are off too, although you were allowed to bring whatever items are ordinarily on your person—provided they aren't any weapons. ]

Day 5, a woman died in front of me. I was full of holes after turning a monster into a porcupine which turned into a lot with very sharp teeth.
Day 6, I willingly had my hand chopped off and part of my neck carved out. [He touches a scar on his neck.] To remove corruption before it sunk in.
Day 8, walked for what felt like an eternity through war and death and self hatred and guilt of someone else's mind.
Day 16, the end of The Hotel. A game where everyone goes through rooms on repeat, over and over, and die, and get possessed by ghosts that make them kill, so more and more die. Half my runs, I was the only Wild City.
Sometimes, there is no good end. Sometimes, its going to hurt, people will die, and there won't be a damn thing to do about it.
And unfortunately, that leads to people being scared, hurt, and paranoid. So even when there's a simple, easy solution, its not taken because experiences have made it so we can't trust each other to that extent.
But...
Day 5, I was brought to SensitIV as I was bleeding out.
Day 6, I survived the fight with a weapon Hurricane helped prepare, and the teams protected each other.
Day 8, I helped someone who needed it.
Day 16, people helped me most of those solo runs, and I saved a girl from being eaten alive, alone, and scared.
Ultimately, the Hosts want a show, and you only get a good show with risk. Which means a bad or good end. If they give a means for something that isn't a blood bath, then its possible.
Pessimism is easy. And sometimes, there is only a bad end. But there is a chance for a good one, and I will damned before I let this place burn out my hope for that we can work together, and get something good. Not when there is something behind it. And what we have looks like two 'yes's for multiple killers.

Why would they change that? Why would they change now?

The show.
Changing the rules as much as they have is pushing it real hard for what would be 'acceptable' for a game.
If we're in the rules, if we're right, they have to honor it. Because otherwise, they're making a bad show. They do have a hierarchy and system in place, there are rules.
I don't trust them, but a system means sometimes, you exploit it in your favor.

I just know nothing comes from giving up.
I'd rather always try to make things better then accept it's always going to be terrible. Sometimes better is faith in people being good. Sometimes better is just being crafty despite the bad ones.
I mean, its either be trying, or what?
Things still be just as terrible as they were gonna be anyway? Seems like I have more to gain by not being paralyzed at the chance of failure.

What will you do if you're wrong, Rye? Because I - I would love to be wrong. I would like nothing better than for everything to unfold exactly, precisely the way you think it will and if it does, I'll be glad to see it. But if I'm right? If there are just two murderers? If that's how they've settled the accomplice issue?
Then at least I know I'm prepared for it. At least I haven't hurt myself worse by being blind to a truth I'm going to have to accept whether I like it or not.

Then I will deal with the crushing disappointment. I'll go fly, go build something, do something else to keep my hands busy so I don't end up in a depressive spiral.
Probably get fussed at by someone. I might go to them, depending whose at where.
A lot of my life is high risk, high reward situations because its either engage them, or let terrible things happen. I know how much hope hurts, I know how much it can crush you. For weeks, I've had several people tell me a situation will turn out well in my past. That I'm capable of getting a good ending. And for weeks, I agonize on whether I should hope because I know if that hope is wrong, it could very well destroy me.
I know the risk of hope.
Its unfair of you to assume that I'm not prepared for both success and failure.

I also think this conversation has become frankly unproductive, but I'm sure you can find a supportive friend to keep you company while we wait instead. Good day.

I'm not sure what you were trying to accomplish because it sounded a lot like you...wanted me to not hope? Wanted me to say 'hey, it might be my team, I don't know, so kill us I guess?'
About the only thing productive I could see is maybe you wanted to be talked into being able to hope despite a terrible three weeks. I acknowledged it could fail, explained why it was worth trying anyway, and you just continued about how it was going to fail anyway without really offering up any alternate action.
I guess good day, but I honestly have no idea what productive were you looking for?

[Now Alisaie turns back again.]
Thal's balls I said I was leaving! Will you stop trying to have the last word!
[Seven hells she's going to get lost in the hedge maze. Maybe by the time she comes out they'll be fine either the inevitable letdown and can finally go back to the dorms.]
