Bird-Levity watches him a little curiously at first - he does not seem to understand the hesitation or some of Luci's reactions. Then he nods gratefully, going back to pull out a length of intestine, slice off just enough that he can feasibly put in his mouth - it helps a little that his shape phases into the bird again; much simpler to eat it all like that.
Once Luci is done with the liver, bird-Levity gives him a questioning look.
"do you... keep helping?"
Would you like some more of this all-you-can-eat Levity buffet.
Bird-Levity brightens up at that, nods, and goes to dip into the corpse's abdomen again, this time pulling out the spleen and offering it to Luci. Friend helping! For his own part, Birdity has a lot of lesser intestines to go through still.
you chose this, luci. you woke up in levity's heart and chose vore
But that's another step closer to Safeguarding The Levity! Next, bird friend cuts into the chest cavity of the corpse, then reaches in, gently pushing other viscera aside as though looking for something particular...
There's a soft snip and he withdraws his hand, arm bloodied to the elbow, and almost reverentially offers Luci the heart.
In the far off distance, there is a rumble of thunder.
fellas is it gay to eat a dude's heart to save him
Bird-Levity looks up at the coming storm again, too. And it does seem to draw closer and closer, but moving as though a succession of images, not a real thing. Blink, and it's closer still, dark clouds filling up the sky like the towering waves of another sea. The rumbling in the distance grows louder, threatening to reach you soon, soon...
"the end. our end."
He sounds... resigned, but not particularly sad. Birdity combs through the dead Levity's hair one last time, pulling his clothes over him to cover up the wounds as much as possible, and simply settles down on the sand to wait, eyes locked to the sky.
For a moment, he freezes, as though he did not expect for Luci to do that. And then there's a sound almost like a sob from him, his shape wavering even more than before as he grasps Luci's hands in turn, head bowed and shoulders tense. He slips into that warbling, birdlike speech again, words unintelligible but in a brief, desperate attempt the feelings behind them get through: despair, exhaustion, homesickness, heartache, and almost disbelieving gratitude for the kindness given to him. And there is another strange moment that doesn't feel quite real, and—
—he's gone. But in your hand remains a shard of crystal, or perhaps simply colored glass. It looks as though it was broken off from something.
The storm... stops. The whole landscape freezes, like a video paused, and then slowly fades away. When the darkness dispels, you find yourself back in the Macarenses Angle.
The broken-up tower still looms over you. On the left, the sky fades into oranges and reds, as though the sun is setting. On the right, it grows darker and darker on the horizon, until there is nothing but inky blue-blackness.
But... maybe it's just your imagination, but the tear in the sky looks a little less wide now.
reconcile emotionally with what and how much he just ate
reconcile physically with what and how much he just ate
so in fact he just needs to take a little while to collapse somewhere and wheeze and use every ounce of strength he has to keep everything down, holding onto the little shard like it's a lifeline
eventually he manages it after swallowing down the aborted attempts from his body to reject his meal—the smell of blood on his face and hands most certainly doesn't help and soon enough he's peeling off his jacket from under the cloak to wipe his hands and face with it.
eventually though, he's ready again to venture down the path of darkness, to the right, clutching the shard in his fist all the while. ]

Is it alright—for me to have this—? Isn't it . . . the most important part?
Re: cw gore and vore
Birdity gives Luci a worried look - is friend okay? :( But nods at the question. It's alright indeed!
"you... are trusted."

Re: cw gore and vore
. . . Yes.
Re: cw gore and vore
Birdity nods, relieved, and relaxes, pulling up his knees to his chest and hugging them.
"your memory... maybe, my way back to him."
A brief pause, and he holds out his hand to Luci. Take? Sure, it's all covered in blood, but so are Luci's hands.
Re: cw gore and vore
I will remember.
[ reaches out to take his hand with both of his. let's not think about the blood ]
