"And here I thought you would be gracious enough to honor my request! But do allow me to say, I am very grateful to have some company at last. This place gets quite lonely!"

Does she mean to the hug or to his request?

"How cold! What is so objectionable about this?"

He might ask that, but there's some kind of... change to his features; subtle, yet wrong on the deepest level - like he's not exactly a person, more like something wearing a human body as a shell.

"The fact that we're in the nightmare space and you were out of your mind and very cruel."

"'Out of my mind'?.."

He grins, and something about it, the unkind amusement, feels more chilling than it perhaps should be.

"I would say that I was fully in control of myself. After all, it is much harder to enjoy oneself otherwise!"

"That is enough."

"Oh, but it never is."

Whatever pretense of friendliness he had earlier is gone, replaced with cold, sadistic glee.

"Shall I tell you what it was like? Or, better yet... show you? After all, you are judging me after you've only heard his side of the story. Somewhat... unfair don't you find?"

"I said. That is enough."

She spins her weapon once, holding it at the ready.

"How terribly cruel of you. Do you think he would approve of that, you threatening me so readily? Would he not say that I, too, deserve forgiveness?"

"It isn't up to me to forgive you. But you show no remorse--that you would so eagerly tell me what it was like to do that to him is proof enough."

"Shall I beg for forgiveness? Would that please you? He did, you know."

Lily reins in her anger, but still she strikes fast with her scythe in a top-down swing.

HE IS VERY NOT GOOD

He sways out of the path of the scythe with a laugh - and once again there's a weirdness to his movements, another suggestion that his body is not quite... normal or real, perhaps.

"Goodness, did I upset you? Oh, but it was quite funny, you know! Such hope he held, such trust he had in me. It's almost adorable!"

YELLING AND SCREAMING

"The trust in the better parts of you was not misplaced," she says sincerely and with narrowed eyes. "You wouldn't have done that to him consciously." But she is still attacking him, spinning the scythe and going for another swipe.

There's a brief twitch of his expression at the mention of the "better parts" of himself before he regains his composure, still doing his best to dodge the swings.



"How sweet. I feel positively forgiven!"

He does not seem to be counterattacking yet, though, instead putting everything into dodging.

"But I'm afraid I've little interest in these pointless discussions of what or who is morally superior. Perhaps you would prefer another opponent to warm up with?"

"Did I touch a nerve?"

She's not above talking shit, especially to this fuck.

"Throw whatever you want at me, I'm not going anywhere!"

"I'll be taking my leave instead, then! I am certain there are some small fries around here that can keep you entertained. Before I deem you worthy of an audience, that is."

And, almost true to his words, there's a sense of someone else's presence... behind Lily! And perhaps the sound of a blade being drawn stealthily.

Lily has good hearing and she spins her blade behind her to parry the oncoming attack before pivoting her body to face this new assailant.

It's some asshole with a sword! He looks surprised that his attack was blocked, then frowns angrily, going for another diagonal swing of the sword. He's not extremely skilled, it seems.

She keeps her guard up nonetheless. There are some schools of thought in combat that teaches you to fight poorly at the start so that you can see all your opponent has to offer.

He might just be bad, though.

She counters his attack, noticing his anger and tries a tact. He seems a proud sort.

"Really, you're supposed to be warming me up, y'know?"

He might just be bad! The man does react, frustration pretty clear on his face as he tries to slash at Lily again. He might not be very good - not entirely clueless, but certainly someone who hasn't learned to wield his weapon as well as he could, relying on a stealthy first strike in a fight.

"Yes, yes! Laugh about it, why don't you?!"

Her guard remains up, but she does smile, and then laugh, since he has so generously given permission.

Maybe if he's pushed too far, he'll trip up further, or maybe he'll show her something interesting, but she also is not going to wait for that to happen. The sport of a fight drives her wild, but she has things to do and so she grows more intense in her attacks, and tries to force an opening with her overwhelming power, only to feint left before striking from the right and slashing down the middle.
