Welcome to 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea!

Your goal is for your team to travel a distance of 20,000 leagues in your submersible. The teams that continue the longest will win a ~fabulous prize~: instant and painless revives, and full healing for one team of their choosing.

The journey won't be easy, though. Every time you choose to take your submersible further into the briny deep, you run the risk of suffering a fatal setback imposed by the challenges of the sea.

You can turn back at any time, safely surfacing. However, fortune favors the bold, and once you ascend, you cannot return to the challenge.

So the decision each round is up to you: will you boldly press onward, to discover the unknown? Or will you return to the realm above, and leave behind the ocean's watery secrets?

Genuine. I mean, like, I'm sure we'll meet some terrible sea monsters or whatever, but I do love the ocean, so getting to explore it is fun.

[ she reaches out to set a hand on his shoulder, offering a smile. ] Don't worry, if anything even remotely tentacled comes out way I'll take care of it for you.

Ah, yes. I suppose the probability of that will be high.

Need to anticipate the worst in this place, but let's try to enjoy the serene nature of our little boat ride while we can... y'know, for all of the five minutes it'll stay like that.

And it certainly doesn't favor sitting safely in port and wondering what might have been.

They've certainly worked hard on the ambience.

I imagine surfacing also just leaves you vulnerable to other dangers, even if going further is the riskier move.

Speaking of that, perhaps you can explain to me the nature of the clothing and the emphasis on bronze and gears. That would not be my first choice for making a vehicle intended for the water.

Indeed. I highly doubt they'd make it that easy to simply spare ourselves the trouble. At least this time 'twould all appear to rest on our decisions for us, and not for other people... though whether that will remain so as we continue is another matter entirely.

Do they frequently change our clothes while we're in the lift? This is decidedly not what I put on this morning.

Shall we be bold in our first step then?

I don't know how they do it, but sometimes they find a way to add to the ambiance by making us feel like we're 'really there', because I guess in a sense we are.

I'm fine with that. Let's see what this game has got for us though, before completely committing to anything.

Of course. Goodness knows I certainly never feel fully invested in a situation unless I'm wearing a matching bodice.
