20k Leagues Under the Sea: HSS

[The elevator deposits you in the interior of a spacious submersible with a decidedly steampunk aesthetic. All of the metal is brushed bronze, and the navigation tools look to be turn of the century]

[Through the periscope, you can still see the sky; the water visible through the circular windows is a pale blue-green, kissed by filtering sunlight]

Genuine. I mean, like, I'm sure we'll meet some terrible sea monsters or whatever, but I do love the ocean, so getting to explore it is fun.

Ah, yes. I suppose the probability of that will be high.

Need to anticipate the worst in this place, but let's try to enjoy the serene nature of our little boat ride while we can... y'know, for all of the five minutes it'll stay like that.

Speaking of that, perhaps you can explain to me the nature of the clothing and the emphasis on bronze and gears. That would not be my first choice for making a vehicle intended for the water.

It's a particular aesthetic known as Steampunk. It's basically all steam powered machinery instead of, like, super advanced looking stuff, so oftentimes you see the inner workings of the machines out on full display. Gold, Bronze, and colors of that nature are usually involved too, since they're metallic and such.

Ah, I see. Utilizing the elemental reactions as the power source for the machinery. Very clever.

Such technology is quite rare where I'm from. And the other things you can find in Tokyo-F much stranger still.

Remind me to show you one of my memories later. But, yeah, tech can be really cool and used to do so many neat things. I'm guess you had, what, magic back home or something?

Yes, that seems to be the word that most people use when I describe it though we did not call it that back in Teyvat.

And I would be happy to see one of your memories. The greatest blessing of this place is for us to swap stories, no?

What did you call it?

And maybe we can do an HSS memory share, so we can all get to see some of each other's worlds.

Mostly the elements. Humans could be granted the power of the elements if they were granted a Vision - also know as the eyes of god. Of course, there were engineers and some mechanics in our world, but they paled in comparison to the abilities of those with visions.

Geo. Which coincidentally is the element of my home country, Liyue.

Does it mean something special if the God of your country gives you their own element vs. getting one from some other country?

I do not believe so. Geo visions have been granted to every nation of Teyvat. So I believe it has to do more with the god choosing them.

A higher power chooses to grant them. Though the rumors have it that most people bequeathed a geo Vision were not even hoping to get one in the first place.

Get a Vision or get a Geo Vision? And nobody knows the criteria? It's just, like, bam! I suddenly have one and I don't know why? Or did I, maybe, do something special the god liked?

Both of those conclusions are equally plausible.
