You head up the stairs, but you find that a fantastical laser show depicting a dog playing fetch appears right before your very eyes forms a solid barrier that prevents you from going all the way up. Or you might just be about to have a seizure from the flashing lights and air horn noises, who knows.

At any rate, it is just light so you might be able to walk through it if you really want to.

[ She... jumps, almost, more at the airhorns than the lightshow.

What happens if she summons up a spear and tries to throw it through the barrier ("barrier"?)...? ]

It flies through and you hear glass shattering on the other side of the lightshow.

High above your head, say, perhaps, exactly twenty feet - there seems to be a set of projectors and what looks like a keyhole.

Or just a thin slit, but it seems like it could probably be turned if you could stick something that fits in it.
