I think you're mixing some things up.

"Mortal" doesn't always mean "human," specifically.

"I suppose I'm just as prone to force of linguistic habit. Do you see yourself as distinct from humanity, still, though?"

Not currently, but that used to be the case.

"But you care about what Kindred do to each other?"

I care about the potential of people, regardless of the species. And I care about that potential having the opportunity to be fully realized while acknowledging and easing the burden of base urges that may be the result of that species' genetic coding.

But maybe I'm too much of an optimist.

"And if it doesn't work? What then?"

If absolutely nothing works... Then death is preferable to a life defanged, I think.

"Is that—"

She looks... distant, for a moment, like she just remembered something. "Is that really so—is that... no, that's..."

"Yes," she says, and in the blink of an eye—

It's Hope? probably. and she looks more or less the same, but less polished, hair tied back, face set in hard lines.

"You're right," she says, bitterly. "I can't believe I forgot for a single fucking second."

[Waving a little! Like this is a totally normal thing to happen!]

Welcome back? ...Forgot what, though?

"That I really, really hate compromise," she says, firmly.

Is that what that was about?

"Part of it, anyway." She shrugs, crosses her arms—it's a distinctly more youthful mannerism than she usually has. "Do you ever look back and think—why in God's name did I do that stupid thing, if I'm so smart?"

[His eyes flick to the side for the briefest of moments before:]

Oh, yeah, definitely.

"Honestly. It's the worst feeling." She shakes her head a little like she's got the heebie-jeebies. "Horrible. Well—lessons learned."

What ended up happening, anyway?

"..."

She crosses her arms. "It'd be easy to say we made the wrong kind of friends that swayed us wrongly. She and I both dreamed of a better world, but—"

A sigh. "You could call me Faith. Neither Liz nor we have been ones to easily doubt the rightness of our paths—but, I suppose, I had reason to reevaluate whether my faith was still in my ideals. She... didn't do that."

Did she actually gain enough power to put her plans into motion?

"...for better or for worse there was sort of a machinations pile-up going on where no one entirely got their plans to go off right because there were too many things going on at once."

...That kind of situation, huh?

"That kind of situation. Anyway, we were the ones who achieved our aims at the end out of all of them."

She pauses.

"Mostly."

How would you say it impacted the lives of the Kindred?
