[Alisaie isn't going to ask if she's okay. Of course she's not okay. All that does is make her admit it, or force her into an obvious lie. Instead, she crosses over to her side, and crouches by the arm of the chair.]

That's a lovely name. And I think I must be. Unfortunately, I can't quite recollect how it is I came to be here... still less what today's assignment is. I think I'm working it out now, though. And yourself? Are you a student, too?
"Mm—just like the flower. Or the goddess from Egyptian mythology, although I don't think I was named for that one."
In fact, she does look just like that woman. Perhaps it was a memory.
"Ah—I'm not a student anymore," she says, shaking her head. "I like to spend time here, but I was trying to find a quiet place where I could sort through some things... but if you're one of Grace's students, I don't know if there's anything you need...?"
No, nothing like that. I was reading, but it can wait. Mayhap...
[She hesitates.]
I'm probably being horribly intrusive, and if I am please tell me, but is there anything I can do to help you with that? Sometimes it helps to put things into words - hear them spoken aloud. I certainly find that it does. Mayhap that's not for you, but... well, I wanted at least to make the offer.
She starts idly braiding her hair to the side, as a thoughtful habit. "If you don't mind—are you sure you have time? I thought finals were going on, but... it might be nice to have someone to talk to. Even if there's nothing that can be done."
Please, don't worry about me. I'd be glad to talk. If it helps you, even a little... well, I would never call that time wasted. And, even if there's nothing to be done about a situation, it still helps to be sure of how you feel about it.
"I suppose you could say..." She clicks her tongue, lightly. "I thought I always knew... what I wanted to do with my existence. But I've lost... so many things that I counted on."
Oh, I am sorry. That's never easy. Loss... it changes things, doesn't it?
[She smiles, a little sadly.]
It's funny. Sometimes it makes it so, so easy, to realize what it is you really need. But only sometimes. Sometimes all it it does is make it even more confusing than it was before... it's difficult, isn't it, finding your way?
[She'd been looking into the noise the same as he was when she ran into him. But since there's no obvious roof access--]
We should check the nearby rooms for any signs of damage. Whatever it was may have broken through. Or if it's structural, we'll have to look for whatever mends we can make to ensure nothing else collapses.
