hunger games: session 6
[ You find yourself in your respective unit's zone, with a mini-map on your phone, as well as your objectives:

Kill as many competitors as you can.
Destroy zones by breaking their statues.
Not enough action = We start killing you :)
Underneath the objectives is the number of revivals you have left, as well as whatever miscellaneous details about scoring points—killing a unitmate results in negative points, five units will be healed at most, etc.
The starting horn sounds. Let the games begin. ]

Re: HOW STILL MY HEART, HOW HIGH THE MOON
Wow!! What a nice moon!!! ]
Re: HOW STILL MY HEART, HOW HIGH THE MOON
He's polite though. He kills his prey before eating it.
Nocking an arrow and pointing it at Hurricane in one smooth motion, pupils blown so wide that they're nearly unrecognizable. ]
Re: HOW STILL MY HEART, HOW HIGH THE MOON
Fortunately, Zhongli still has his wits about him due to his high endurance, but he is leaping across the car to tackle Venti out of it before that arrow can take flight. ]
Re: HOW STILL MY HEART, HOW HIGH THE MOON
The bow falls from his hands as he goes down with a pained yelp. ]
Re: HOW STILL MY HEART, HOW HIGH THE MOON
He lets gravity do the rest of the work of pinning Venti in place. ]
Barbatos.
Can you hear me?
Re: HOW STILL MY HEART, HOW HIGH THE MOON
Let me go!
Re: HOW STILL MY HEART, HOW HIGH THE MOON
Re: HOW STILL MY HEART, HOW HIGH THE MOON
Does ramming a fallen arrow into Zhongli's chest with his free hand count as proving he's of sound mind? ]
1/4 (cw: neck breaking)
Without breaking eye contact, he reaches up and rips the arrow from his chest, snapping the shaft between his fingers. ]
Re: HOW STILL MY HEART, HOW HIGH THE MOON
Then I will have to ask for your forgiveness the next time I see you again.
Re: HOW STILL MY HEART, HOW HIGH THE MOON
And there is another pause (there is always another pause) as he searches for the light in Venti's eyes that he knows so well. But he does not find it.
And so the neck snaps beneath his fingers just as cleanly as the arrow shaft that preceded it. ]
Re: HOW STILL MY HEART, HOW HIGH THE MOON
And surely.
This is what Barbatos would have wanted as well. ]
Re: HOW STILL MY HEART, HOW HIGH THE MOON
Is what he might have thought, but he's not thinking much of anything anymore.
Mercifully, his body dissipates into wind as soon as the life leaves it, with nothing left behind but a few fallen feathers. ]
Re: HOW STILL MY HEART, HOW HIGH THE MOON
He hates this. ]

[Attempts to leap over the back seat, her own canines looking somewhat sharper than usual]
Re: HOW STILL MY HEART, HOW HIGH THE MOON
Wha - ?
[Making a grab for the wheel with one hand, and to pull her back with the other,]
Xia...!
Re: HOW STILL MY HEART, HOW HIGH THE MOON
[She struggles, attempting to get past the chair more than to actually push him away]
He attacked you, how dare he--
Re: HOW STILL MY HEART, HOW HIGH THE MOON
[Twisting around in the chair to see that the bow is out, and that Zhongli is doing a tackle]
[His own hand still hasn't let go of Nem's sleeve]
Jesus, what's wrong with him?
Re: HOW STILL MY HEART, HOW HIGH THE MOON
[Snarled, and maybe he's going to have to do more than just a hand on her jacket to keep her in the driver's seat]
Re: HOW STILL MY HEART, HOW HIGH THE MOON
Xia - something's the matter with him. Did you see his eyes - ?
Re: HOW STILL MY HEART, HOW HIGH THE MOON
...Did you see where they went?
Re: HOW STILL MY HEART, HOW HIGH THE MOON
[He tips his chin in that direction, toward one of the merchant tents, but doesn't let go, yet,]
Re: HOW STILL MY HEART, HOW HIGH THE MOON
[Another beat and she opens the door, pulling away to exit the car]
Okay, let's go. In case the old man needs some help...
