[ You find yourself in your respective unit's zone, with a mini-map on your phone, as well as your objectives:

Kill as many competitors as you can.
Destroy zones by breaking their statues.
Not enough action = We start killing you :)

Underneath the objectives is the number of revivals you have left, as well as whatever miscellaneous details about scoring points—killing a unitmate results in negative points, five units will be healed at most, etc.

The starting horn sounds. Let the games begin. ]

Obviously. I said more, not to imply I would not be otherwise, but because it would certainly be more so than usual, in merely a human form devoid of any more than mortal ability.

Goodness. I've been hanging out with people having low self esteem too often.

[He leans against his shoulder if he isn't already.]

[Sometimes you hate yourself and feel pretty worthless, but also have way too much confidence and know you're the best ever. It's complicated okay.]

You spend most of your time with Cosmo and Five and don't see enough arrogance? Something is wrong with that. That's their best quality.

[Unitmates...they'll figure that out at endgame.]

[Vergil is an interesting mix of lack of self worth, but no problem in confidence.]

Five has been feeling a little ... on unsure footing of late, but I'm sure the arrogance will come back shortly. Though I was more thinking of others outside of them.

Perhaps I will make you my new cushion to retire too when it does become too many feelings to deal with.

...Has he? Hm.

[Well he'll have to be attentive then!!]

I suppose that was Absinthe's job until recently.

He's gaining a new friend. One he is highly close to you. You can imagine how much that is nerve-wracking for him.

[He laughs.]

Caught on so quickly. But yes, you do have the soothing demeanor I do dearly miss from Absinthe. Even at his most cruel, he still managed it.

Well you have mentioned that similarity between Absinthe and myself before, which is difficult to comprehend on either side, but less so than Caeli.

For you and Caeli, you both have a love of battle. Ones where the stakes are all or nothing. But I do believe that is where your similarities end.

I should think so. Even that is with a different approach.

You are unique and special and so dearly loved.

But that doesn't mean you are free from my meddling to find you playmates. I imagine you can only enjoy Cosmo's myriad of status effects within dreams for so long.

[He laughs.]

That is exactly the way to describe it. Yes, unfortunately dreams may be fun but they do little for restlessness, and that is not exactly my style.

And I have not the skill to give you the sport you seek in the waking world.

Perhaps you should take advantage of this game if you find yourself in another round.

That was my intent, originally.

[He puts up with so much. So much not being able to kill things. He huffs, pouting a little.]

They were having problems. And of course I wasn't going to leave Klaus...

A pity I not found you sooner, or I would have helped take care of him. But I will help after the game.

Unfortunately we ran into a problem when we dropped in on you at just the wrong moment. At least he wasn't cut in half or some such thing...

Still rather gruesome. I'm not sure if melting in acid is worse.

Well...he made it out. Better than having melted to death or drowned in it.
