There's several ways we can be punished for not engaging with a game. Sometimes it's just that the game itself will have rules that hurt ya if ya try 'n get around it. Sometimes if ya throw a game or flaunt the rules and die doin' it, ya get sent straight ta The Mother of Monsters--a title for a death demon I'm not gonna invoke here. She's the one people get sent to if people die outside a game and we don't get ta them ta revive 'em first. Trauma 'n corruption or possibly risk of eternal servitude ensue.

Not participating in a game isn't always punished though... Sometimes they give ya the option ta abstain, if ya look at the rules. A lotta times if the rules mention ways ya get punished for not engaging, that's technically just layin' out the consequences you can expect if ya make that choice, 'n so on. It can depend on the host.

Mm, like that. You can expect that one ta be a shithead 99% of the time.

Sometimes ya don't get ta know who's hosting though, like this game... Mm, the bouncy slide kinda shows some of the personality that probably went inta designing this thing, but... [waggles hand] friendly 'n funny and traumatizing with bad taste are like directly next ta each other so often it just makes ya distrustful, ya know?

[She listens to all of that and is aware of it from past games, but...]

I just don't want to get eaten by a giant squid again, that's all.

The only way ta find out is ta forge ahead! Which I also don't really wanna learn.

What should we do? I don't mean to put you on the spot or anything, but we should all come to a decision together, right?

The rules don't really clearly state if there's a problem with not playing.............. but it'd be nice ta wait somewhere a little less mmmm.... fulla weird noises.

Mm, well when it's in question it's definitely about what tone is bein' set I think. Hard ta tell with what we've seen so far though. I mean, I guess technically we could like... see how doin' the bare minimum goes.

I mean, spite and petty can be a satisfying option.

But people trust us to help them after a game and...

And it doesn't feel right, bringing them all down with us if that's the outcome. At least trying is...well, at least there was an attempt.

They don't trust us that much, and if given an option, will absolutely take the other option, as we have learned! Anyway, balancing lookin' after ourselves and lookin' after others is an essential skill and sometimes, there's no point in puttin' energy inta worryin' about others! Also, losin' doesn't always mean not survivin'!

But there's no reason ta worry about an outcome like that yet, so I'm not gonna.

However, it's noisy down here 'n I don't like it.
