Drunk Cards - Friday session

RULES

  • Decide on a turn order. On your turn, draw a card using this handy-dandy card generator.
  • Each card has a challenge. If you refuse to perform the challenge, you must take a drink.
  • If you really do not want to play, you may forfeit. However, you will not be eligible to turn in your score for that session at the end.
  • No cheating. Some cards specifically ask the player to conceal the card until after an action is performed. However, you may not conceal your card in an attempt to avoid the challenge. If you do, you will be magically compelled to show the card AND take a drink. Similarly, if you lie during a challenge in order to avoid drinks or make someone else drink, you will be magically compelled to drink regardless of what the challenge was.

OOC NOTES

  • Powers are on, player items are available.
  • Drinks may be alcoholic or non-alcoholic. All types of drinks are provided, so pick whatever you'd like. Alcoholic drinks may cause loss of inhibition, but that's not magic. That's just how alcohol works.
  • No significant harm may come to other characters. Minor/sexy injuries are allowed, but if characters try to injure each other for real, they will find themselves magically unable to do so. For example, if a character tries to stab someone, the knife will suddenly (and permanently) turn into a harmless foam knife. Someone who uses a power to cause harm will suddenly find the power stops working mid-strike. A gun fired at another character will suddenly jam, etc.
  • Table assignments are here. You can rearrange yourselves however you like.

HOW TO WIN

  • Submit your scores here. Scoring ends 4 hours after game start AKA 9 PM PST / MIDNIGHT EST / 5 AM GMT. You can keep threading after that if you want, though.
  • 3 winners are individuals who have had the least number of drinks.
  • 3 winners are units who have taken the fewest average number of drinks.
  • You may play in as many sessions as you like. Choose your best session for turn-in.

Er—

—well, that's good, then. Because you spoke in first person, so now we're all free and you can have another drink.

[ Oh, good! She struggles enough with grammar as it is, trying to make that work would long term would have been difficult aka player got super confused which thread was which OTL ]

[ So, drinking! ]
Sorry. [ In case anyone was enjoying the third person speak or anything. ]

[ leaning over, in an exaggerated stage whisper: ]

It's all right. Anyone who was having fun will probably just keep it up anyway.

[ Giggling! ] Okay. I worried. [ The last thing she wants to do is ruin fun. Games should be fun, right? ]

You have fun? [ In general, she means, not with talking weird. ]

Well... sometimes. Sometimes the things that happen are dangerous, so be careful.

Dangerous? [ Hm. She'll decide how she feels about that in a second. ]

Mm—sometimes they ask you to hurt other people, or to go into a dangerous situation. So—well, just keep that in mind. I think...

...your unit will take good care of you, though.

[ polite way of saying that they're good at murder ]

[ So, perhaps that is the reason the only thing that she wanted to do when she woke up was fight. She had no idea what or who, but maybe now she knows why. ]

Why hurt people? [ Just... because? That doesn't sit entirely well, but she feels like she should ask her own unit about it before she settles on anything ]

Re: Round 3

[personal profile] identitypolitics 2021-11-20 04:29 am (UTC)(link)
...because someone more powerful wants someone to get hurt, so they make it so it's either hurt someone else or be hurt yourself.

[ hm

why does that feel ominous? probably no reason ]

[ When you put it that way, it doesn't sound very good. But... they all have people they belong with here, right? To protect each other? ]

[ Why couldn't this place be just drinking games and snacks? ]

I see. [ She doesn't, but she's starting to have more questions. ]

...well, it's probably good to talk to your unit about. They're the best people you have to depend on, when there's trouble.

I will. [ She already knows they're Her People, which is all she truly needs to know, but... the people she's meeting here she also likes. Which will be inconvenient if they have to hurt each other. ]

[ She still will, though. Probably. ]

Thank you. [ For telling her. She'd rather know, than not. ]
