[you find yourself in this derelict village, with not a soul to be seen—but before you is this station wagon:

for all intents and purposes, this baby is a simple "honk, steer, pedal to go, brakes to stop" vehicle that anyone with opposable thumbs can drive. despite its age, it does have a handy GPS system that displays paths you can take, but fails to identify anything like landmarks or other worldly features. last but not least: its paint job is done in your unit's color!

• These 5 Bone Saws
• A surgical set
• A single miniature of 99 Bananas
• one large first aid kit containing nothing but bandages and bandaids]

[ A hand grabs that wrist as her fingers start to blacken and rot right in front of their very eyes. ]

[She's numb, she's just so numb. Even knowing, this is bad, she can't seem to make herself feel it. Mayhap, if she does nothing, it will kill her, too--

It hits almost as hard as the blow to the head would have, and it leaves her reeling.

[The snow is cold, but she lies down just in case.

[Breathes.]

[This is going to be awful.]

[ For lack of anything better, he strips his dark leather gloves off of his own hands, rolling them until they have enough volume that she will not bite through the layers. ]

[ He offers them to her as he crouches next to her, lying out bandages and gauze to deal with the inevitable bleeding. ]

[She breathes, just that: she counts ten of them. Focuses on the cold, the dizziness, the numbed and dizzy sensation that is drinking to take the edge off. Then Alisaie closes her eyes, she places one of the rolled-up gloves between her teeth. She nods.]

[She'll never be that. But what choice does she have?]

[ There's the sound of a saw being handled somewhere above her. ]

Two.

[ And then the sharp pain of her hand being removed in a single precise stroke ]

[It's clean.

[It's quick as it could be. It's even merciful. She'd been right, about the saws, and saving them--

[It hurts. It hurts it hurts it hurts: so much she's left gasping and choking on the leather, tears standing out in her unbandaged eye as she struggles to catch her breath again. Alisaie doesn't dare look down at the - the wound, the site, call it what you may, she doesn't want to see it. Not now.

[Her muscles have been tensed, of course. Now she slumps.]

[ She's feel it being wrapped up quickly, roughly. Time is of the essence unfortunately and she's already lost so much blood.

But after the last knot is tied and the last piece of gauze is wrapped, Alisaie will feel herself being lifted into Zhongli's arms. ]

This all ends when the game ends. So what I will ask of you---

Alisaie is very injured and will likely pass out from the blood loss soon. I intend to carry her to the finish line in the hopes that she will be healed.

You could remain here and try to dig Alphinaud out, but I believe that we both know such a task is impossible for any of us in our current state. And I do not wish to leave you behind. Selfishly because I do not want you to become even more injured. And realistically the more people we have cross the finish line, the greater our chances of winning is.

You think, like -

[He hesitates. Looks from Zhongli, to Alisaie, to the pile of snow and boulders. He hasn't stopped trying to dig, yet,]

This is the only chance we have of doing so.

I do not. Not without risking death for the rest of us. And that is not a burden I wish to put additionally on Alphinaud's shoulders.

He is already being very brave in asking us to leave him behind.

Can't we at least stay with him until, like...

The longer we stay, the more we risk Alisaie's life. She is bleeding from two wounds now.

I know this is difficult. I know that you wish to save everyone. And I know that you think being stronger or more clever might turn the tides - but at the moment, we do not have the luxury of time to think of another strategy.

This is all I can offer as the best possible outcome for us.
