[The skrill's attention snaps to Lupine as he waves, coming to a hover in front of him. With the lower ceiling, its impossible to not feel the wind of the wing beats, strong enough to knock a weak person off their feet.]

[He roars at him, the electricity sparking around him.]

[ Well, luckily not a weak person; he just hunkers down harder, and — oh hey, Imeeji powers might be on after all, he sure did just reflexively barkskin, for all the good it wouldn't do against electricity.

But Lupine makes an effort to shed it anyway. He didn't just watch Caeli attack a dragon, after all. ]

Yeah, you heard me!

[ And, you know what, since he can fly, he's going to fly. That stronger wind suddenly peppered with leaves and then that oversized one, which he leaps on as if he's been doing it all his life. ]

If you won't come down, I'm coming up.

[ Frankly, better for everyone else here anyway; get the splash zone a little higher up. ]

[The Skrill looks a little taken aback at SUDDEN BARKSKIN and tilts his head at it shedding away.]

[He is LESS COOL with the sudden approach, and there is electricity building in his mouth before he fires off a blast at Lupine.]

[ —And that... that just reminds him of Pentium. So much. ] [ So, Lupine dodges, but he also makes a point of slowing way down and letting the Skrill have some distance. ]

Hey. I didn't mean it like that. See?

[ Spreading his palms. Hands empty. The shield's still on his back. ]

[There's another roar at him, more lightning crackling around him, arcing off enough its getting caught in the chains above him.]

[He jerks his head to the ground, lightning curling from the sides of his mouth.]

[ Okay, annnnnd what if he just. Gets in the way there. Physically putting himself between the Skrill's mouth and the arena below them? ]

Hey, now. Eyes on me.

[ He will bring the shield up for this and everything, just — if anyone's gonna get zapped here, it's gonna be him. ]

[There's an almost offended sound and then growl before the Skrill fires again!]

[Good news, you're not so good a conductor midair, and the shield is far better.]

[It'll root through the shield to the air and is redirected to another part of the ground and thankfully NOT you, though that might change if you make contact with the ground.]

[But now the Skrill is hyper focused on you.]

[Or....is it?]

[ That's way better than he was expecting, he was pretty sure holding up the shield was going to get him electrocuted right along with it, but. ]

...Big guy?

[Luckily conduction gets Weird midair.]

[And Rye knows this well.]

[The Skrill is looking very hard at that shield, electricity still arking.]

[ Noted. ] [ ...Tilts the shield a little, so that it moves to the left. ]

[His gaze follows it.]

[ Moving... a little closer? Testingly? ]

[His eyes are still on the shield, it takes it a few moments before he notices Lupine is getting closer and there's another growl, more sparks.]

[ ...Hrm. ]

Do you want this?

[ The shield moves a little closer, but Lupine himself stays back. He's just kind of holding it out. ]

[The lightning goes down, and he stares at the shield.]

[He starts to move closer, a gentler hover.]

[ annnnnd holding his ground, then; staying where he is, the shield offered ]

If you want it, it's yours.

[Closer]

[Cloooooser]

[Cloooooooooooooser]

[SNATCHING OUT OF HIS HAND.]

[ That's honestly kind of cute? Like a mischievous puppy. ] [ Too soon to pet? ]

There you go.

[Maybe. He pulls away with the shield, tilting his head to look it over.]

[And then tosses it into the air, hitting it with electricity and it just juggling it in the air with some amusement.]

[ Okay. Not trying to pet just yet. ]

Hey, that's pretty awesome. [ Warm. To the best of his ability, he's trying to project warmth, too. ] You're so good at that.

[The skrill catches the shield before it hits the ground, looking quite proud of himself and soaking in the praise.]

[And pausing.]

[Staaaaring at Lupine.]

Uh. Hi.

[ Little half-wave. Otherwise not trying to close the gap between them at all. ]

Nice to meet you...?

[Well, the arking has stopped. There's little sparks at times, but nothing major.]

[He flies closer.]

...I'm Lupine.

[ Lipquirk. ]

Well, as far as I know, anyway.

[ Watching the dragon's approach?? He's a lot less scary-looking up close. ]
